Too bad, the game is amazing to be dropped like this
I love when people ask for a game to be lower, and then complain when no updates, it cost money to run servers and to PAY devs to make, maintain games..... will you work for 2dollars an hour?? I doubt it.. They make about 11 dollars to 1 dollar after Steam takes there cut.....
https://steamdb.info/app/487120/ Gamers today just dont get it at all....go yell at AAA games that charge 100$ for a game that is old..
Imagine how lazy i'd be perceived as being if I worked 4 times a year. hmmm.
Some of the settings for custom games don't even work as stated, and often apply a blanket multiplier to both yourself and enemies, making the setting almost entirely useless. Customisation in general, is severely lacking, and is what will kill this game ultimately (in my opinion).
I opened a ticket once, after having zero replies and me adding more and more issues to it, I kinda gave up caring. It was only after I said this that a reply was done and the ticket closed without any form of resolution. Shame. Game has great potential if they just bothered to fix issues and open up customisation.
Don't get me wrong, it is fun as it currently is, but it could be a lot better with some refinement. Being a small team really isn't an excuse.
Edit; I don't think it's abandoned, yet. But the lack of any meaningful communication, "next update" hype, acknowledgement of issues, a road map... you get the picture, these certainly paint the picture it's going that way.
I wish more gamers would actually run a business, or make a game.... Now I would agree they should atleast be connecting with its users... but most of these indies, are 2-5 members... and lose most, since they cant afford to pay the others.... unless a game blows up and does super well.. So I bet its 1 or 2 people and they are prolly working another job to support family etc.... So sadly if a game don't do well, this happens...... AAA companies can afford to do that and pay millions since they remake ♥♥♥♥ with old assets, code all the time, I seen both sides...
Now I can understand why gamers get upset.... but sadly that is the way it is.... This is why indies, should be charging more for a game, this 10-30 dollars, don't go far, not when Steam takes 30% GREEDY bastards... and then, server costs, by the time , the devs get there cut its like a few dollars per SALE, which is nothing and a business can't survive.... This is a FACT of indie...so scammer indie? HA, I like to see some of you see what kind of money indies make....Most lose money actually.... Which is why this happens....
There one or two devs should reply though, it don't take much time for that. I bet the reason they don't is because they know gamers will just complain to them anyways...
4 times a year, do you work for 2 dollars or for free?? I doubt it, if a game don't make money this happens, you get paid do you not every day?? Well devs have to support families, so they are prolly working contract, or another job just to pay there HOME bills... This game dont make anything..... worth, paying developers...... indie devs, NEED to start charging more... PERIOD... AAA, get away charging 60-200$ for JUNK and micros....
Indies, need to be smarter... . 10-30$ with a game that has servers, cant sustain itself.....long term..... Unless the game blows up... Its the fact of the industry....PERIOD. a business, needs to make money all the time...when money is always going out and NOT much or little in....it will GO under......
This is some of there cut.....after STEAM takes there cut... for some sales...
https://steamdb.info/app/487120/
1-3 dollars...... Ya, I bet you would be working 3 jobs, if you made a dollar an hour..... and some weeks, they make NOTHING..... That is the indie life, so for those, saying another indie scam... I dare you to be an indie and make a game and make 1-3 dollars after GREEDY STEAM and others take there cut...
that is why most indies fade off, unless they BLOW up and do REALLY well, indies need to SELL a TON to be able to hire more help and actually sustain itself...
That is business....KIDDIES.....
This isn't our problem I'm sad to say.
However, with regard to the single, but valid, point you do raise over and over;
You are indeed right, most starter devs will be working proper day jobs to sustain themselves whilst they develop their games and potential afterwards as well, depending on profits of course. Again, this isn't our problem, and the expectation of the game to be maintained, have bugs removed in a timely manner, and for feedback to be acknowledged and well, some kind of answer on what their roadmap now actually is. That way, questions like this topic won't need to be asked. If they are done with this game, simply say that.
Again, to reiterate; How much money they make, or don't make on game sales, and whether they work additional jobs or not, these factors make zero difference. If you release a product, people expect it to be maintained if not abandoned or End of Life.
I'm also unsure why you quote my reply, and then (I believe), start responding to various other posts throughout your reply.
Please, whiteknight somewhere else, nobody cares.
