Essences

I'm kind of new to the game and after the recent update I can't figure out some things, the most important being the essences. I figured out how to get light/nature/dark and a bit of storm essences but what I'm wondering about is the fire and frost essences.
Im a mage and I cant fire fireballs? that's no good u.u
So is there a specific pool for those too as well or are they found in caves? or what?
I'd love to be a fire/frost mage <.<

Frost can be found on the reawakened, undead which roam the land. There are big fire breathing reptiles named dragons, I haven't laid eyes on a flame essence but my guess it would drop from them.

As for pure essence orbs you can extract from I've sometimes found frozen essence in caves, I simply suggest exploring those and familiarise yourself with areas.

For frozen essence, you need to kill undead or take them at the middle of frozen lakes (at North).
For fiery essence, you can get some at East. Locate the eastest Blackrock Cave entrance and go to an island on the east to find a lava lake with fiery essences.

You can also find nature, light, storm and dark essences at South, in the Lagoon Cave.

A friend and I have scoured all the islands there and cannot find this lake...

The lagoon cave is below the middle spawn area. I was there just a few hours ago.

So after flying all over the map with my beginner broomstick and dying numerous times because I forget to look at Mana....

I found 2 of those pools in the South/East, one in the middle of the map, just West of the volcano thingy and several of the Frozen Essence pods around lakes in the North.

To clarify what Khraal said before..
Travel East to Blackrock Cave, swim further East to the numerous islands, swim/fly South to the largest island to find this Lava lake and the Fiery Essences :)

Northwest of the Winter's Tears fast travel spire there is a small lake with lots of Frozen Essences, and Southeast of the same fast travel there is a cave called Wuudturm Cavern. Right outside of that there are more Frozen Essences.

Fire Essences can be found consistently near the Volcano, but can also be found in the Northwest part of the map. There are other locations as others have said as well.

Frozen essences tend to be in decent sized batchs on ice islands in the north lakes. However, you can find one in blackrock caves (unless it got moved in the last patch).
Fiery are usually found anywhere there is a lava patch. So, biggest concentrations around the volcano (especially up top), but there are a few lava patches in other places.
