Loot despawn
How long does it take until dropped items vanish into the ether?

I think it's 15 minutes.

Sorry I was thinking about the bag that drops when you die. I'm pretty sure that one is longer.

I'm talking about the bag that spawns whenever you die or drop your stuff

I'm not sure of the exact timer, but its a decent amount. ARK, IIRC, was about 15 minutes and this seems comparable.

Recently I died way up the coast from the newbie starting area, and I was able to take the time to gather some junk, forge myself a new axe, enchant it, forage for food and chop down 2-3 mushrooms, AND fight a big pack of birds, all before finally walking up the coastline to find my body. It was still there. Was easilly more than 7 or 8 minutes there.

The dropped bags though... they're probably about 5 minutes for the ones you throw on the ground. The ones that pop out of your forge / campfire though, I don't think they go away. Or at least they're subject to DSL, because I went on a HUGE adventure at one point for like 2-3 hours, and came back and realized I'd left my salted boar meat sitting in my fire.

Well, I wanted to know if I could just place a flag. Drop some gear that I've outleveled for anyone else to come across and pick up. If it was like hours or so it would've been ok.....Hmmm, I guess I'll build a shrine of sorts and make a public chest
