Is there a difference between Km and square Km? (how big is the map)

The store page says the map is "36 square kilometers". I know the map for Player Unknowns Battlegrounds is 8 kilometers. does that mean Citadel's map is 4x larger?

Square Km is a unit of area (2d). Km is a unit of length measurment (1d).

You can ostensibly use a length measurement as a stand-in for area measurement by assuming the length is the diagonal of the area. This is how monitors and TV screens are measured, for example.

PUBG has 8 Kilometers and 64 square kilometers (64 = 8x8))
CFWF has 6 Kilometers and 36 square kilometers (36 = 6x6)
(Square Kilometer = kilometers x Kilometers)

KM=1000 METERS
sKM=1000X1000 METERS

Metric system is way to go i'll bet in 20 years miles feet inches gone same with farenheit Celsius is what matters.
