too bad there wasn't an option to turn on/off dismemberment, It'd just make the game that much better.

Daeron the game seems like it's still based in realistic european-or-close medieval warfare, so it's unlikely... BUT maybe mods and DLCs focused in diferent times and lands, like when guns came in... those infantry guys somtimes held a gun or a dagger together with their sword.
