From prisoners. Either recruit from your own or free someone else's.

Not that this will give you any anwser but anyway, Better to go with Svear Warriors in my opinion. They can be found in Taverns and are easier obtained.

If you go for the bandit path, you can recruit them by finding a party on the map and offering them to join you.

If you go for the mercenary/lord path, know that leadership doesn't reduce their wages so they'll cost you more than other troops. They are less cost effective and harder to replenish.

To get them cheap you should Raid Caravans thats going to Ribe using the water south of Seaxe. Those are usually full of Danish vikings and vikingr. Other way around if you want some nice soldiers or Slaver Chiefs the Viking boats down there usually have alot on them.

im a vassal for kingdom of denmark so should i raid the caravans that going to ribe which my is my kingdom? but wont that make the king of denmark hate me and probably exile me.also are svear warriors better

If youre in war with the kingdom it dosent matter, for say that you are in war with East Engle and attack their caravans your relation with East Engle with drop but not Denmark. Unprovoced attacks on kingdom caravans gives you a minus relation with the king of your kingdom.

Not really sure but how i have just thought is that Vikingr are likr the Norse freeholders, Svear warriors are more lite the Norse Spearmen or such. And then Danish vikings are lite elite troops. But thats just me. you can talk to your troops and ask them about their stats.

i like christain armies over pagan armies i rarely play a pagan mostly because im a christain trust me i dont hate pagans i just stable christain kingdoms over raiding monestarys
