The mini map and giving orders

So i cant see the columns off orders past the first one,its always been like this but the more i play the more tactical i want to be,i realise i can do it all with the F keys but its a little frustrating that i cant see the orders when i open the mini map.
I also realise through searching that i can move about and try find a light patch or area to be able to see these columns of orders but i would prefer to see them in a snap to give orders quickly and return to the fray.

So to clarify,i press back space which brings up the mini map with the units i have the columns of orders i can give and the stats of who has what left.

Ideally id like to change the colour of the UI and im not sure how complicated it would be to do,i have tried to google a solution but i dont think im typing in the right keywords.
