VC: Special Weapons
Sorry for putting this in "general" but i don't expect many responces from the VC page.

Anyway, what exactley are the special weapons? Are they just regular weapons but with a stat boost or are they actually unique. Side note: is the "Frisian axe" (from Denmark) a 1-hander or a 2-hander.

The Frisian axe is two hander, but can be used as one hander, at reduced effect. It works like the battle axe, does high slash damage, and also can stab. I think it does like 36-39 slash. The widow maker is a pretty good sword, but the swords you get from side quests I believe are better, Nad, bandit king sword, etc. Widow maker is just more balanced, stab and slash.

Some are great, some are mediocre. It's been a long time, and I do not remember which ones were randomly generated, and which were chosen from a menu, but the spear Ray is better than any of the spears I'd seen.

As for the axe... I do not remember one worth keeping, There was a bаsтагd one, and it was too slow one-handed, i.e. with a shield.

In Viking conquest, shields are a must. The enemies are going to try and nail you with a javelin even when you are in melee. At full difficulty, forgoing the shield is not for me. So whether I have a spear, sword or javelin in my right hand, the left is holding a shield, unless the enemy has no javelins. Thus, two-handers are not for me.

I'm just talking about the special ones that you can buy from the menu. And i already know to have a shield. Note how i didn't ask for tips on how to play. I already have, just not to the point of getting a special weapon. Still, thanks for the help.

There's grendels axe too and it's savage af, but you need like 20 or 22 strength to wield it. You get it by fighting the giant grendel in one of the little side areas on the map, I think it was in Denmark.

I know the one. Hit's like god's boner, with about the same length. Slow as hell though and you have no shield. Soooooo, suicide.

odens cave and get the bandit sword, or Nad in the old ruins.
In Tunsberg you can get the widowmaker. All are 34 swing damage and a decent sword. i upgrade them to balanced and use them.
Otherwise i use the alban sword that you get for killing the snake if i got a strong charater that iam leveling up to the troll axe.

In tunsberg you can also buy the best spear in the game

Still not really my question but thanks. I only ever use a spear from a horse, since it sucks a fat one in close-combat (any melee). Still, may be helpful. As for the swords, yeah, i beat all the areas (i think). Just looking into buyable stuff. Plus i want to find a good mid-grade axe, since i like the bonus damage to shields.
