Best Ship?

Does anybody know what the best ship is? I've seen that the snekkja is the fastest, but is it worth switching out for a Busse or another ship that can hold more men?

Oak Busse.

There are better choices if speed is your thing or you have a very small group, etc.

For lots of guys on a large deck, the Busse are the way to go.

Busse is biggest and reasonably fast, Skeid is fastest and second biggest (but is dangerously narrow), Snekkja is nicely sized for a raiding party, reasonably fast, and can be built anywhere.

Depends on what you want to do with it. I use snekkja to fight and busse to ferry my troops.

I combat, nothing can catch a snekkja rowed by Norse warrior archers. With a player character that's good with javelins or a bow, you can shoot anything to pieces from afar.

I would think a skeid with an NWA crew would be even faster / better

It's faster, but it's not really better. It's so long that it is easier to get hooked up and boarded, and it's so narrow that falling overboard is a real concern. Also, to make it go at full speed, it takes more people, which means less loot and renown, and finally, its speed does not matter, because I've encountered nothing can catch a snekkja full of Norse.
