Need help with battle Performance!
So i recently started to play this game again because i really enjoyed it when i was younger. When i started the game and played native i didnt noticed anything bad until the point where i got into bigger battles my fps dropped to like 50 or 30 all the battle. I fixed this problem by turning off hdr, this was causing the problem in native for me. But when i started to get into mods i noticed something really bad happening in battles for me. I noticed it first in A world of ice and fire where i got involved in a big battle, i had my troop size on max (750) and my fps got really bad dropping to like 20-40 all time. So i started up Viking conquest to see if the same is happening there and no surprise same issue in a test battle my fps dropping to like 30-40. I tried everything to fix this issue (Single threading even made it worse for me 10-20 fps.).

Setup: 16gb ddr4
Ryzen 1700x
gtx 1070 strix oc
Windows 10 pro

I really want to play this game with large scale battles and my PC should be able to handle this easily. I would be really thankful if someone had a fix for me.

But i wonder then how some people can go to like 800 battle size without lags or issues

Probably depends on the mod you use. If you are playing the same mod as them and see better results then I really have no clue at all

Probably need a better CPU to let the engine be sloppy

3.6 ghz should be enough on 8 cores and 8 virtual

For a 9 year old game, working on one core. It's not.

Did you ever find any kind of soution to your problem? I'm also having a similar issue with a Ryzen 5 2600X. The game is PLAYABLE for me, but with a smaller battle size than I would like...

Yep me too, 150 is the magic number. I have asked on the TaleWorlds forum and somebody in the know explained to me that the programming is sort of wonky and also single-threaded, and as such does not lend itself to increased battle size, ESPECIALLY on newer CPUs, regardless of single-threaded performance. In other words, there appears to be a CPU-dependent hard maximum battle size.

My i7 2600k allowed me much bigger battles than my Ryzen 5... Sigh.

Well... Bannerlord is not too distant! Also, prepare your SSDs, because the closed beta weighs in at 50Gb... ;-)

Fun fact: 2600k is better than all first gen ryzens. Specially in single core games like warband.

But i do also have same fps problems/lag. Seems like some sort of memory leak to me, because it works perfectly for a while at 1440p 144hz, but after a few hours it starts lagging. Then if i restart the game it works fine. Weird.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that part about the game's performance degrading over time. MEMORY LEAK.
