Mid-Game Crash to desktop send help

Whenever I'm playing my modded games, Blood and Steel and Warsword Conquest specifically,
during an intense battle my screen will freeze for a second and then the whole game crashs to desktop.

I'm having no other issues with the game except it crashing during battles in the later game.

Truth be told I know about computers but not that much, but I'm fairly certain it's the GPU because after the game crashes I pulled up Task Manager and I went to the Performance Tab and notice that my GPU will run fine but than just before it crashes it makes a few peaks than one Large peak and then thats when the game freezes and crashes to desktop.

My GPU is a NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 which makes the crashes more or less bizarre atleast in my case, this issue only happens with this game and no other game that I own.

If anyone knows anything I can do to help fix I'd greatly appreciate it.

It also happen to my computer, the game crash back to steam page for a few seconds quite often (but will go back to the game). It only happen during this play through never happen before.
Also, the steam page is very unstable, some of the screens are shaking !!!
It happen just after steam's update.
I am using a 1060 VGA card, the same series as yours. I think steam's driver have something do about it but I'm not 100% sure.

@ghoststudr I know exactly what you're talking about.
I also have a GTX 1080, and the crashing you are describing happens to me fairly commonly in Warsword Conquest. It always happens specifically when I am moving towards/around a large group of enemies. It feels like it's lagging for like a solid second or two, and then I crash to desktop. No clue why it happens, and I haven't been able to find a single solution.

In fact, I found this thread by doing a google search on this problem. This thread was the first thing that came up lol.

I find it interesting that all three of us use a 10 series card and are experiencing the same crash.
