COW shader on water (FIXED)
https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=374229.0

I have this exact same problem, were there is a damn cow texture on the water in game, and haven't found a solution yet, not even reinstalling the game, how come?

EDIT:

I managed to fix it. Go to the directory where you installed the game, commonly is: steam/steamapps/common/MountBlade Warband

There you will see 2 folders, one called "Texture" and the other one called "TexturesHD" (which is the one added in a past update and I just found out about it today)

Make a backup of the Textures HD folder, copy ALL its content and paste it in the "Texture" folder, replacing everything that it asks, after that delete the "TexturesHD" folder. BOOM, bye bye cows in the water and enjoy the new and barely improved textures.

It should go away after the game has been updated. Mine went away a week ago. Devs must be hinting to us not to have a cow over MB2 ^_^

Haha I hope its a sign that Bannerlord is around the corner, how do I update the game? Updates are in auto but none so far, and yesterday night I uninstalled the game and deleted everyfile, then downloaded it again and the cow is still there :P

Dude you must be new to pc gaming I guess? Let me answer your two questions: In computing, a directory and a folder are the same thing. If one is referring to a container of documents, the term folder is more appropriate. The term directory refers to the way a structured list of document files and folders is stored on the computer.

Now with that hopefully answering one of your questions, the directory, or folder you need to access in order to fix the issue, is discribed in the original post if you look carefully, anyways, here I direct you to it: steam/steamapps/common/MountBlade Warband

Where can you find it exactly you may ask? well in the drive you installed it of course, generally would be in disk C:, in my case I have it elsewhere as I have various drives in my computer, so if you only have 1 HDD or SSD, the directory probably is this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MountBlade Warband

I hope this is helpfull enough.

Uninstalled this gem of a game for Bannerlord since it came out, still this "fix" should work for those playing Warband.
The year is 2021 and it still works. TNX :rejuvenationrelic:
