Best armor?

I had some plate armor and i never took any damage in battle. When i switched out the plate armor for chain mail and iwas was killed faster. The mail armor is better than the the plate armor. Is there a style of armor that is better?

leg,chest,and head armour so are you afraid of midgets,drunken brawlers or shooting your eye out?

I was wearing the leg,head, and guantlets for both the sets. i died faster with the mail for some reason.

I'm confused, Lordly Plate Armour is the best set of armour I know of. The costs of the items kind of indicate that this is also the case.

In theory Plate should be better but in MB you can have almost a good Mail so it depends on your preference.
I always go for the one that looks the best as well.
