Incorrect Serial Number (Mac)

My friend recently purchased the Mac version of Mount and Blade: Warband as well as the Napoleonic Wars DLC. When attempting to connect to a multiplayer server in either version, he was met with a pop-up asking for his serial number. For Warband he correctly typed in his CD Key and was able to proceed with connecting to servers. When attempting to do the same with Napoleonic Wars, however, he didn't type anything when prompted with a serial number verification. He simply hit ok / continue. Now when he attempts to connect to a server (Napoleonic) it simply says "Incorrect Serial Number" without even giving him a chance to type the actual CD key. It must think his blank entry was his serial number. Does anyone know of a way for him to fix this? He knows his serial number - he simply needs a way to put in the correct one instead of having it blank.

Has anyone found a fix for this yet? Reinstalling did nothing for him.

What you have to do is to to finder, then select "go to file", then type in
~/Library/Application Support
then find the folder somewhere at the bottom called MBWarband (not the steam folder). In there will be a text file called serial_key_nw. open it, put in the correct serial key, and save!

I followed your instructions jonrichens, but there is no MBWarband folder in the Application Support folder. Can you think of any other place the serial file could be? Or some way to search for it? Thanks

I had to same issue. I waited for about a month untill it finally asked me again to enter a serial number. Don't use the warband serial key go to a link (CD key) then it will show you the serial keys for Napoleonic Wars and Warband.

You check your invoice out (your email), if you bought whole collecion, it should show there, then contact to steam support. They should active DLCs in your library.

However, you try first exit and re-enter to your account.
