Report a translation problem
I don't actually know what happens if you manage to capture a castle all by yourself when not aligned with any faction - perhaps you would get the option to have a banner then, but thats not something I have ever done.
You can always just start off as a lord, by picking your father as an impovershed noble and yourself as a paige at a court in your child hood in the character creation at the beggining
In Native the white stag head on black background was my first choice and is still my favorite.
@ Sohei...funny you mentioned that banner...I was looking at it myself, thinking it's pretty cool.
If it REALLY bothers you, use an editor like gimp or Paint.NET to edit the banner you were assigned to one that you like. You can cut&paste from another banner, if you don't feel up to drawing one yourself.
