Estimated performance

I recently been noticing performance issues now that I'm playing warband again.
My estimated performance (when I played 1.58 warband from taleworlds download) bout a year ago was around 147% or higher. I could also play with 500+ troops (battlesize) with no stuttering at all using floris expanded mod .54.

I recently saw warband for sale on steam and grabbed it (havn't played warband in while and it was uninstalled) cause I wanted it in my library. I also own it through amazon but its a pain. Downloaded the steam version installed it and its patched to 1.161. Now when I run the game I get micro stuttering (like 0.5 seconds or 0.25 etc) on open world map. I also get stuttering when My battlesize is just 200+. My estimated performance is now only 33%... Does anyone know what happeneD? I looked around on google etc and can't find any help/idea what is causing it.

My Specs:

i7 4820k 4.2ghz 12mb cache quadcore
16gb Ram 1866mhz
Evga GTX 780 Ti Superclocked acx 2.0 cooler
10k RPM Velociraptor harddrive
windows 8.1 64bit
Asrock X79 extreme motherboard


None of my hardware has changed since I played it last time when it worked perfect. I am on a clean install of windows 8.1 (same system as before) recently formatted. I'm running the exact same programs as I did before as well. (which wouldn't effect the game saying my estimated performance is 33%)

I built my machine myself and I don't believe I have intel integrated graphics. All my other games work perfectly fine like borderlands 2, borderlands tps, two worlds 2 dungeon defenders etc.

Any idea whats wrong with the game? Is it the new patch causing this? I have tried both the newest nvidia driver and the driver my card came with. Both are saying only 39% instead of the 147% it use to say. Is it because I'm running the steam version of the game?

i dont think its steam,i use a i5 laptop with intergrated and even i manage 66%
is your comp somehow using the processor graphics rather than the card?

How can I tell if its using intel graphics or if I even have intel graphics?

Also card is set to run max performance in nvidia control panel.
if your running a i5 laptop and getting 66% then something is definatly wrong as I can set all the options to bareminimum and the estimated performance only hits 44%.

i remember seeing a post,way back,where this turned out to be the problem,but i cant remember what the guy needed to do as i didnt have the problem
perhaps someone with more tech ability than i will stop by with the how to

I thinkthat is a laptop issue as thats all I keep finding. They talking about nvidia optimus which I dont have. Under hardware manager my display says 780 gtx ti

Don't worry about it. It's just the game enumeration. I played 'fine' on a 28% score... SLI'ed 460s (not that it uses SLI but...)

type> dxdiag.exe into your program search and see if that helps you figure things

maybe before you ran the game in directx7 mode and now your in Dx9? Change it in the warband launcher to see the differance in performance estimate.

Maybe you need to really do some clean up on your computer, hard defragmentaion and optimization.

Same here, I get head ache inducing stutter over 150 troops and I have an Intel - Core i7-5930K processor (OC to 4.0Ghz) and MSI Gaming GTX 980 with 16 gig ram DDR 2800 mhz. Read that previous versions allowed peps to run huge battles flawlessly.

I'm on a fresh install of windows after drive has been formated. Drive is also defraged so its not those. Also I never played dx7 as I looked at it once and the graphics were horrid in comparison to dx9
