Publisher change? From Paradox to TaleWorlds Entertainment?

I know taleworlds did the development the whole time. it's unusual I see a different publisher in a new DLC for something so I had to look things up because steam does list them as publishing this with a new developer.

wow.. so it seems like they are even left on good terms.

In the history of game devs and publishers has this ever happened? Paradox has always been a bit weird and cool but I'm still amazed. They even pulled from their mod community to develop like valve likes to.

Paradox hasnt been the publisher for Mount and Blade for months now, wlecome to the future

afaik paradox was the publisher for the previous titles but bannerlord and apperantly the comming viking exception will be funded without publisher, so by the devs taleworlds.

Parting from your publisher must not be a bad sign, for example if the devs can fund the game by their own, or just want to have more design-freendom in general. I dont know the conditions between these 2 companies however
