Missing Bandit Lair in Viking Conquest

I got a quest in Viking Conquest from Cyning Egbert to find a renegade lair near Jorvik. There's a couple locations I've found its usually in for this quest. I checked those, and its not there. I scoured the side of every mountain remotely nearby for a couple weeks in-game time ... not there. Not only that, but there are no renegades in the area at all, or bandits of any kind except the occasional thieves and masterless men. Its very unusual as the Jorvik area usually has several renegade bands around it.

Anyone else seen this or have any clue where the camp might be? I'm a couple days from failing the quest and contemplating just letting it go and never taking bandit quests from Egbert again (which is a shame cause they've been so nice before).

Also, wasn't there an old warband bug about bandit lairs disappearing? I didn't play back then but found something on it when looking for solutions to this.

Yeah, been searching forever too. Up in Alba land and what not. Plenty of Renegades but none of them go to a lair. Just constantly circling around...getting very annoying

If you are seeing Renegades in the Kingdom of Alba it means the lair is probably there. The Alba renegade camp is very very far from Scuin (where you get the mission). Its north, almost always near a river near the border with Laithlind.

The area I was talking about was the Renegade camp near Jorvik. The reason I thought it was missing was because I was seeing no renegades in the area at all. That's what led me think think must have been a bug of some kind. If you're seeing renegades in Alba, I'd imagine the lair is still there, but in its usual places far far north of Scuin.

Look west of Jorvik, somewhere close to mameceaster, that little area in the mountains

Yeah I checked that area over and over again. I took out a lot of the bandit lairs before. But I've since moved on from the campaign in questinon here though, heh. :P

You need to ask merchants until you find one that saw them.

Stay around where you got the quest, chase and kill every renegade group you can spot, after you purged several groups, there's a chance that their lair will pop out just before you.

I always head off in a random direction, scour the area and reload until I find it. Seems to work.
