But Viking Conquest is more advanced, technically. Fire and Sword is a OK mod, but has been since surpassed by other mods - story, custom quests, firearms, you can find them elsewhere. Viking Conquests has new mechanics.
I think it is all about the subject matter. Which time period do you find more interesting?
The 17th Century struggles between the Russian Empire and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth over Ukraine, with Sweden and the Tatar waiting to get as much as they can for themselves? Or Britain's struggle against the Vikings raids?
Early firearms, the early sunset of cavalry, unpronounceable (for some) Eastern European names?
Crappy steel, crappy horses and swords, the time of the axe, spear and shieldwall, unpronounceable (for some) Celtic, Norse, etc... names?
