VIKING CONQUEST - Bodo's Letter Help: West Seaxe or Vikings?!

Cannot decide who to support, Bodo has given me the ultimatum with the view of supporting West Seaxe in hopes of eliminating the Vikings. However, Vikings are awesome but then again i dont want to lose Bodo as a companion. Please can someone clarify the differences from each choice? Thanks!

The biggest difference is storyline. Personally, i'm going the saxon route atm, so i can't tell you what difference in the story going the danish route is. I do know that either way, you lose asbjorn (sp?) as a companion, at least temporarily. If you go dane, you lose brunhild and bodo. If you go saxon, you'll lose egil (if you kept him after learning he was a spy). As long as you listen to everyone's opinions first, solveig will stay with you either way (although she prefers dane).

If you go the saxon route, Bodo dies later anyway per story. It sucks since him and solveig were my main bodyguards.

Even though vikings are awesome, they still attacked you on wooden ric. They think they are honorable but they conquer and pillage. Let there better be peace. At least that is my opinion.

Friese hunted me from the lowlands. Danmark drove me across the sea. Northymbra allied itself with Sven Bull Neck's master. If Bodo tells me that the Iberians will muster an army against them if I bring the letter to West Seaxe, I will go to the Saxons.

If you choose to go the West Saexe way your viking companions are to leave your party. Just found out that it helps to have +50 relation to Solveig and Asbjorn to keep them in line. You just need to give enough rings to them to get them to +40 and then agree to their arguments in the conversation. Bribing Egil seems not to work.

Necroing this old thread, but if you go the Viking route, having high relation with Brunhild will keep her around as well. I ended up turning her into a decent archer. it has worked ok.

Once you finish the story line, every companion comes back to life, and can be recruited unless he becomes an adventurer. If he or she likes you enough, it seems that the chances of becoming an adventurer are much lower.

With my best character, I am currently playing in the sand box, and employing one character who appeared to die in the story line, and one who left me when I chose to go with the Saxon. No problems whatsoever so far.

Is it possible to get bodo and brunhild back?Cuz i gave bodo chainmail AND a sword which are pretty rare drops....... and brunhild had okay gear too, is there a way to get them back? For i jonied the danes..

I depends on how upset they were when they left. The character who rejoined me in the sandbox (Asbjorn) disliked my choice, but liked me a lot otherwise. If they left at -100 relation, they will become adventurers before you have a chance to rehire them.
