Viking Conquest: Finding Jarl Rathbarth Ragnarsson...

I have finished the part where Sven attacks your fleet and now the game want me to find Rathbarth. I can't find him anywhere though. If I ask the other Jarls where he is they say they don't know and if I check his character page it says he is captured by the Kingdom of Mierce but I have gone to every town and fort and have not found him and even his mother and sister have disappeared! I have been looking for like 3 hours now. Please help!

when I was looking for him I had to look him up to see what faction he was then I had to go to that faction and ask one of them where he was. in my game at that time he was imprisoned and in a dungeon I had a decent army but not good enough to take the town so just for that quest I had to put it the damage to self and others in half then just looted the place. most mount and blade games and mods the lord will say thanks for freeing me but not there I had to wait some more to get him to appear at his feef way accross the map.

lords will tell you where he is being imprisoned and if they dont know he is in transition ussully and will appear aventually. if all else fails load a save from before that point you could have hit some weird bug.

Well, That is the thing. I have looked EVERYWHERE. Even the enemy lords. I even waited for like a week ingame to see if he was put somewhere but nope and if I ask where he is at to his allies they just say, "I don't know where Jarl Rathbarth Ragnarsson is."

he said that the faction did not know where he was so Rathbarth Ragnarsson would not show in the list if that was so.

I just walked around and eventually found him with an army of 0 so I guess he had just escaped

When I ask the other Jarls they say that he is in Ireland, I went there and I can't find him...

No, I had to restart my whole playthrough. He was there the second time.

I had this problem too. Rathbarth was nowhere to be seen for quite some time; then after checking his notes page he was reported to be in a Mierce prison. I broke him free, then he appeared to vanish again.

I was on the verge of giving up till I randomly paid a visit to his fiefs and he was patrolling the area. The story then resumed.

During my search for Rathbarth, I spent a lot of time killing robbers/bandits/raiders. I also completed multiple side missions- my experience and renown increased quite a fair bit during this time. Perhaps the story is triggered by your actions. Either way the developers should revisit this segment as it is confusing.

Note Snotingham occurs after you have met Rathbarth, and then Bjorn Ironside.

I took about 10 days but I found him patrolling around one of his hamlets. However, I don't know what I did to piss him off, but I have a -140 reputation with him. The dialog would not allow me to address the betrayal of his brother. All my responses to him, led to him attacking me with his much larger force. Lucky for me, I prevailed in all three battles, but loss half my force in the process (150 down to 83). Got some good loot and prisoners, including Lord Rathbarth.

I have been to three different "Lords/Kings" and no one wants him as a prisoner/hostage. I have tried all the options to get him to take to me, but he is very hostile. So far, after 30 additional play days, no ransom money has been seen from his family. From other things I have read, I will probably need to restart, but I have a lot invested in this character. Very frustrating.

So, I have decided to give up, take his armor and weapons, and let him go on a remote island. Then switch the game over to "sandbox" mode. Note: I was enjoying playing the story and like to see these things though, but this was the last straw. Qa'pla!
