Morghs Editing software question
To those who are familliar with editing the game with this editor, Morghs. I post this question to you. I am playing mod Tocan's Calradia, which is essentially a beefed up native mode.

The Rhodok Sharpshooters were turned into Rhodok Arbalists.. instead of the SIEGE CROSSBOW they run an ARBALEST...

So... I replaced the Arbalest with the Siegecrossbow on the Rhodok Sharpshooter, updated troop info and saved the file.

When it asked me to put a Variable in on the item I added, i just set it to a number that actually put the siege crossbow in the list.

However, it does not show up in game, even with a new save. I thought this should be a pretty straight forward notion, replacing a troop inventory item with another item.

What exactly is going wrong here? I just want to switch crossbows on an existent troop.

What version of Morgh's tools are you using? The newest version I think is ver 1.40 and I don't recall any prompt asking for a variable when you add/remove new items on a troop. It should be indeed just a straight forward add/delete selected item, update troop and save. No need for a new game as well.

file version says 1.40. When I added the item without a # it said enter variable 1-1600 or so. i put in 1 it became a tutorial item, 2 another tutorial item, 3 another.. 10 put it as a siege bow, but its number was 686.. i dont know.

it isnt just clean cut and working for me.

Ok so the number part is, either or, add the itme by # or by name. Still... it shows up in the list and doesnt register the change.

As it seems, it comes down to a save conflict due to, authoritzed restriction. I edited the troops.txt and successfully renamed Sharpshooter. However, they are still using the Arbalest, do you know what file/coding I would edit to change the item they use to SiegeCrossbow?

Try again with Morgh's. it's really the best tool to mod troop txt imo.
On the available items list, just highlight item you want to add/remove and just click on the add item button. You can filter it out by looking for Siege_Crossbow as well.

Oh, and did you set the save/load path correctly to Tocan's mod?

As far as I can tell, yes, only it won't register because my Authority Access restriction. When i extract a file straight to modules folder, it will not appear because of that restriction, so i have to save elsewhere and place it in..

now the given code it gave me on changing the siege crossbow for sharpshooters, i just went and put it in the line for troops.txt, still didn't change.

I just need that siegecrossbow in their list and the arbalest out, that would be the numerical coding morghs provides after you update the troop?

Whenever I reload morghs, it shows the item as in the list the name changed etc.. it just does not affectively adjust the in game change.

Hmm, do you have admin rights on your user account? Try running morgh's as an admin and save your changes again and see if they show up ingame.

Running as administrator reverted the weapon back to arbalest for the first time since ive attempted this. i will have to test it after a bit..maybe the answer i needed.

Success, thank you much for that insight!
