Sometimes it will fix itself after some time passes in game.

Some times after you defeat a faction there will still be lords running around trying to stop you. If you defeat all the lords then the faction should disappear

Also remember I think some Lords can bring it back. I once killed off all the lords of Swadia and it said it was beaten. But a few months later it popped back up with one lord attacking one of my castles.

Yes, this game does do this to us. It is the single reason that despite many hundreds of hours and many "complete playthroughs", I have never actually finished this game.

Nothing works. The info on the Wikis is crap.

Here's what I've found. Sometimes a lord will "disappear" only to return again later on. I think this is them travelling outside of Calradia temporarily.

Sometimes a defeated faction will have lords on the map still so their faction isn't technically defeated until you chase them down. They could always take a small castle and start over from scratch, you see.

Sometimes, the game simply considers a trade caravan of a faction to count as a unit so you won't be informed of its demise until those traders get to their destination.

If there is a rebellion, defeated factions can sometimes come back.

Sometimes, the King of the faction (who can never die) will remain upon the map, refusing to give up and simply be a ghost that "haunts" little villages, etc. He'll move so quickly, you will likely never even see him and even holding all of Calradia and ruling over a peaceful and prosperous land will not be good enough to grant you victory.

I've had about three games get to that point and with no way to deal with ghost Kings, well...that is about as good as it gets.

There is no fix that I am aware of but I did hear that Ctrl+T (I think?) is supposed to highlight all the units on the world map...maybe that would work if you went out on your horse alone to find him?

Good luck and PLEASE share the solution if and when you find one!

He said it fixed itself after waiting, as I suggested. Sometimes that does not work. It is a known bug.

For returning lords, make sure you are not running a mod that allows lords to return form exile or make sure the option is disabled at the end of a game.

If you are at the very end you can go ahead and use cheats to help but keep in mind that you will not get acheivements while they are enabled.

I'm sorry, was my contribution to this conversation some sort of sleight against you...in your mind?

Of course it is a known bug that has no solution, was there a comment in here that made you think someone needed to be told this?

Perhaps I'm just over-sensitive after spanking trolls on another thread but you seem to be getting unnecessarily snotty with me.

I'll still stand by every word I wrote because as you pointed out, it remains to be a problem with no known solution.

It does have a solution, as stated in post #1 that works some of the time. I really don't care about your rant but I was not trying to provoke you either. It appeared that you did not read the thread and see that the original poster solved the problem in post #2. If you just want to vent your frustration anyways, go ahead.

Well then I was stuck with this glitch and I got so mad since the last achievement I needed was Manifest Destiny. The Vaegirs had all the fiefs in the game and all other factions were defeated besides the Rhodoks. I took over the Rhodoks by attacking a vassal and then all their lands but for some reason their faction won't disappear and the lords kept switching back and forth their vassalage with Vaegirs and Rhodoks. I tried all sorts of things but the last one I did was that I broke my vassalage with the Vaegirs and lost all my fiefs to try and break the glitch and for some reason the other faction was defeated soon later! Hopefully this works for all of you.
