Freeing Prisoners

I am trying to free some Count out of Prison, but I am not sure how I can do that. My character is only around level 12, and this count is held in a town that is controled by a faction my faction is a war with. Help would be much appreciated.

I would say grab as many troops as you are allowed to use and train them up a few ranks then go and besiege the town to take controle of it,Doing that will free any lords as prisoners,Thats pretty much what i do myself when i get a quest like that when the faction i am with is at war with the towns faction owner

Well this city has a good 300+ troops, and I only really got around 25. Any other suggestions?

Besides that you can normaly sneak into town if i remember right and go find the jail cell to free him that way... but there is always the chance you will get spoted sneaking in and need to fight your way into the city. then fight your way out after finding the jail cell and speaking to the lord saying your here to free him or something like that, But the last time i did that myself it was some what hard since there was atleast 15ish guys i had to fight before i was able to leave the city.

I know that you can break lords out of prison in quests. Have you tried breaking into this prison to see if he's in there?

Aso if i remember right you can go to the villages near the city and ask them to create a distraction to draw the the town guards makeing it so the towns guards head there and are away from town to make eat easyer to free prisoners in towns..

besides that its been a good long while since i have had that type if quest in game so i cant realy remember to many of the details in the differant ways they can be freed.

If i remember right they are normaly in the jail cell, When not at war i do remember being able to visit the jail cell and talk the any of the lords in it.

On that note.. I also kinda remember being able to talk the the owner of the town/castle and ask for a prisoner to be freed.

I also remember these quests being pretty damned hard to do in the lower levels since you dont have many troops that follow you allowing you to just forcefully take the town to free them lol

Go to a village under the town's control.

Convince elder (usually requires upwards of 300 denar) to light a fire either in an hour or at midnight.

Sneak into town WHEN YOU SEE THE FIRE ON THE OVERMAP

All guards except the ONE at jail are gone. Kill him wth your staff. You get key.

Go in, free the count and tell him to put armor and grab a weapon.

Leave and kill off the few guards who spawned. The mission ends then.

These can be insanely easy or insanely difficult.

EDIT: I don't know if this is a Diplomacy Mod only thing or not, so if it is, and you're playing native... sorry.

No, it's not. All that is in native.

If u are not an enemy of the fraction u can walk in as usual, get yourself to the prissonguard. talk with him and make a breakout. Then the character u free can if you choose to help you.
If your character is well equiped and constructed for fighting your level ain't a problem.

Remember, before getting the prisoner out u have just a staff. It will take several blows if you are low on strength.

A simple guide:
Go to a nearby village and ask them to light a fire(at the elder)
Sneak into th town
Take a walk around the streets
Go to the prison guard(ussualy around the castle)
Ask to visit a prisoner
Tell him he's the boss
Be blunt and ask him for the keys
Beat the crap out of him
Go in
Talk to the lord
Tell him to help you,or to stay away from the fight
Leave the prison(DO NOT USE TAB)
Beat all the guards or leave the map
GET MONEY AND RELATIONSHIP,YAY

i have tried going in in stealth and free them but every time the prison is empty even though on when you enter its said their are prisoners why is that

Are you 100% you are checking the whole prison? Sometimes, there is a long coridor going off an angle, i.e. it looks that it ends before it actually does. Sometimes you spawn looking down at a staircase, but the prisoner is behind you, up, and to the side.
