Taking on the initial invasion force head on is pretty much a death sentence. Kudos to you for giving it a shot and doing as well as you did though.
Oh okay! I foolishly assumed I could beat them. I'll try to hold my towns if I can, but I guess you're right. Lose ground if I have to, but make sure their divided. Thanks for the advice! Thanks for the kudos as well!
The native expansion was intended to give people more of the same game they already love.
The concept of the black knights was essentially an "end game" content intended to give game crushing veterans a swift kick to the groins. I'm pretty sure you can even disable them entirely if you wanted to.
Its entirely possible to beat them, extremely unlikely to be to able to beat their initial invasion force though. As they take land they'll get lords and divde their armies up some. Its possible to get black knight troops of your own by rescuing those imprisoned by others or defeating and capturing some yourself and then recruiting them.
Either way have fun and remember... there isn't really a way to lose in Mount and Blade so don't be too afraid to take risks. The worse that can happen to you is you'll end up naked and alone but still be substantially more powerful than a new character. Won't even take you long to rebuild to your former glory either and sometimes a crushing defeat story is just as fun to tell and hear as a tale of glorious victory.
I knew they were an end game enemy, I just didn't expect them so early! lol
I've got limited options for cavalry because of my faction choice. I can only get really mediocre light cavalry right now. Although the cav that the mod adds for the Nords is great. I guess I'll be training a lot of people lol.
I'm happy to hear you succeeded, though being a Rhodok at heart I find the spread of the Nords to be a bit insulting. Good luck to ya none the less though.
Just out of interest how many in-game days did it take for the invasion to start, because i'm actually patiently waiting in my game for it to happen (im hoping to join them)
p.s the vaegirs will strike back, just you watch, our archers can decimate any army.
It's been awhile so I'm not certain, but I think it was around day 200 or so. Although it might be random. Oh almost forgot, I don't think you can recruit the Black Knight units when you join them, unless you free them from prison etc.
Fat Harlaus must die!
