Unpaid Taxes (Viking Conquest)
Is there a way to ensure taxes are paid in my town? Every time payday is due, the budget just says unpaid for taxes yet my town is rich and prosperous...

I think that's just the way it works (maybe because there are so many fiefs on the map?). When a payday is skipped, the fief in question should pay double next week so you're not loosing out in the long run (though I know that a fief might skip multiple paydays sometimes for whatever reason and you only get payed the normal amount afterwards).

Well that doesnt make sense...I mean I get what your saying but it shouldnt be a script issue especially since I only hold two pieces of land so its not like the game has to calculate income for every fief...maybe the game is missing a feature. Such as building a tax collector or something cus it saying unpaid makes it sound like my people just arent paying but there are just no options to rectify it.

villages etc are processed randomly, so yours might not get the call during week 1 but it will surely be called during week 2, sometimes maybe twice, so in essence in long term you'll have a once a week pay (unless it's looted).

I'm also having this problem. It is really annoying. When my kingdom isn't in war with anyone, I have to station all my troops to a castle or something because an army of 300 soldiers just costs too much and I don't even get income from the castles and villages I own. Some weeks I even lose money because of the castles; I have to pay the salary for the garrison but I receive nothing. They sometimes pay, sometimes don't, and I never receive the unpaid taxes from the earlier weeks so I'm only losing money no matter how many villages or cities I own.

I'd really like if they decided to fix this glitch.

Villages and castles are not worth having as fiefs. I simply refuse them.

Even for cities, taxes are a joke. When you have a city, you can expect to receive anywhere between 2000 and 5000 from caravan tariffs, and between 800 and 1600 from your enterprise, as long as you buy cheap materials from villages. Compared to this, the 1000 coins from taxes, once in a blue moon are chicken feed. I simply don't care, and don't even get upset when they do not come in. And the character in question owns three cities. They are all fiercely devotes, among the ten richest, and he has +22 relation with Christians and +92 with Pagans. They still pay diddly squat.

And seriously. Dump your troops in garrison, go out hunting vikings with your companions! With looting 14, we get 40-50K per week, easily.
