Crouch?
What button is crouch?

Go to your game folder: Program Files (x86) >Steam > Steamapps > Common > Mount and Blade: Warband > Modules > Native. Scroll down to module.ini file, scroll down to the bottom of the file and set can_crouch = 0 to can_crouch = 1.

I'm not sure this works as a client side thing alone, so it might have to be enabled on the server as well to fully work. Otherwise that's your solution ^^^^^.

Never knew you could crouch in this game, could have avoided a lot of head shots in MP that way. :P Couching, however, I definitely know is in and yse it all the time when charging the enemy.

You can go to your options and look at controls, there should be a button for crouch. If there isnt a button for crouch you should probably asign it to Z.

Do you mean crouch as in kneeling? In Napoleonic Wars you can do this with the Z key but not in the native game.

Or do you mean "couch" as in couched lance attack? In this case you can charge the enemy and by default it does it automatically (C key is manual). If you land a shot it takes a short while to recharge. You'll know when couch damage is available again when the red dot appears near your health bar.

We're talking about "crouching" (as in ducking down), not "couching". I know it is possible to crouch in Warband because I've done it; I just don't know what use it is. Maybe it would help you avoid an arrow to the head, but it is just as easy to sidestep or raise a shield.

There is a crouch, they disabled it, but possible to enable.

Oh. Still though, some people looking for how to crouch may come here. And I forgot to put the way in, in a settings file somewhere (Forgot where D:) There is a crouch option that is set to 0. Set it to 1.

Well yes, hidden inside the mount & blade ini files there IS an option to turn crouch on for vanilla warband. (although it's kinda useless as lionheart has said) It's just easier to google it or find in the steam forums without bumping it, since you can just search for it.
