Lordly Armor :)
Is there any tricks to finding it? I have been wandering around towns hoping for something for 2 hours, yet nothing. Do certain towns have a higher chance of spawning it? Is some skill or some stat related to finding it? I need...

Lordly Winged Helmet
Lordly Plate Armor
Lordly Gauntlets
Lordly Plate Boots

True, certain items can will only be found in towns. But the 'Lordly' or for that matter 'crude' or any other 'prefix' is random. You can mod it yourself if you like. It's around 1% otherwise.

Dang >.>

I had a feeling this was the case. I don't want to mod it or anything, but I just think that it should be easier to get the gear. Raising the money or finding it should be the challenge, not both (IMO).

Thanks :)

Getting all your companions in thick or reinforced versions of the same gear can take a long time as well, even when money is no longer a problem.

It would be nice if there was one particular vendor in Warband who had all the best stuff. I remember in Morrowind, there were dozens of vendors who all sold the same generic items, but there would be one person somewhere who always had the rarest, most expensive items in stock. It was just a matter of finding them.

Morrowind, what a GREAT game! The armorer located at the entrance of Ghostgate for glass armor.

The last game I finished (MB:W) at level 44, and I only found one Masterwork Elite Scimitar sword. Good luck in your search.

Yep. I recall there was a shop owner in Vivec who had the best archery equipment. I visited her all the time whenever I needed magic arrows. There was also a bookseller in Vivec who specialized in rare books. If you got a quest to obtain a certain book, you could go there and he almost always had it.

Yup, it's rare. Can't get it for love or money. You just got to wait. Moving from town to town searching for what you need doesn't hurt any either.

It's too bad we can't commission our own sets of armour for insane amounts of gold. Designing and builidng your own castle would be rather amazing too now that I think of it.

This is why I don't mind using the exploit in Freelancer to give armor to my companions. It just takes too long to find the armor pieces I want. The cost is not the problem. It is all just standard quality equipment but at least they all can wear the same uniform and look like proper personal guards.

I got some Lordy shoe things as loot after I bet a lord in a battle.

Okay, I was thinking about this/

What level were you? How big was the fight? What was their army? I have won 6 different 500 vs 75 battles now and have found nothing. I have captured kings as well only to find crap. I read online that it might be because of my level but I am level 28 now and still finding nothing. :warlord:

I cant remember what level I was, or who I fought, or how big it was.

I think it may have been like a 3v2 fight, with around 250 troops all up, 150vs100. My level was probably from 20-30. But I don't really pay much attention to my level.

I think it still goes down to chance. I'm under the belief that if you increase your looting skills then it increases the ammount and quality of loot gained from battle. Although the looting skill may only apply to looting villages, and not apply to battle loot.

Needless to say, I havn't come across much other interesting stuff through my travels, and I think some bandits beat me once and stole my shoes!

Good idea, I will have to try adding to loot skill. I didn't even think to try it. My highest loot skill is like 2, so that could possibly explain that.
lionhart May 29, 2014 @ 3:31am
I have found that putting points into looting does help. I have been experimenting with keeping a companion in my party who specializes in looting and trade. I call them my accountant -- this is in addition to my medic, scout, and engineer/tactician. I use TweakMB to make trade an intelligence skill, rather than charisma (as it should be; I make persuasion a charisma skill in exchange). Not only do I get more loot from battles, but I get twice as much money for it from the shopkeepers. If only inventory management was a party skill rather than a leader skill, it would be perfect.

My experience is that more prosperous towns usually have better equipment, but that could just be the placebo effect.

Lordly gear drops very rarely as loot. It's much easier to find with a few levels in looting. If you plan on buying it, you will have to check back at each town every time they change their inventory for it. All the gear you mentioned is sold in Swadian towns.
