Best VC light armor?
The title says it all: what is the best light armor one can find in VC?

I've beaten the campaign and did most of the "special challenges" (like troll bridge etc.) + did trade with the "great" named armorers....yet the best light armor i was able to get for myselfs is the reinforced saxon light armor (ver. 2 with better leg armor) which has like 28 body and something above 20 for legs. Is that really it?

Are there at least some comparably decent statwise and unique looking light or medium armor sets either? (the saxon light features vomit green and vomit yelow + looks very generic).

Light
Saxon Light Armor Weight 1.5 28 Body 19 Leg (Angle/Seaxe Cities or with some luck from Seaxe Tier 3 units)
Bear Skin Weight 3.0 13 Head 31 Body 10 Leg (Drops only from Berserk/Ulfhedinn rare)

Medium
Saxon/Angle Long Gambeson Weight 6.0 37 Body 14 Leg (Angle/Seaxe Cities or with some luck from Angle/Seaxe Tier 3-4 units)
Norse Long Gambeson Weight 6.0 37 Body 13 Leg (Norse Cities or with some luck from Norse Tier 4, Northmarth, Svears or some more dont know all Norse Raiders)

Heavy
Scale Lorica Weight 16.0 46 Body 26/27 Leg (Dropped from Svear Elite or you can get some from the special places got one from Eriuland if i remember right)

There are some more specialised/unique like Orms Lorica (the best armor ingame only storymode) but those ones are somewhat the best with awesome ratios to weight/armor total

Well, i've seen all those, and i have orms (which is arguably the best armor BUT heavy) + gave the scalre lorica to morgant. Also, there are 2 versions of saxon light, one of which has a bit more leg armor, 21 at reinforced to be precise (which i have atm).

Is there really only these? No unique light or medium armor around?

Take your favorite light armor. Norse for example..
Go to talk to the armorer in person, upgrade it until you can't any more.

I already took that into account and saxons light (ver 2) is the best of em statwise, of course the coulours are not great but to be honest i dont like the "shape" of the normal light armor at all. The most i like (i mean the look) is the irish armor with hood, but that said hood is the problem: helmet gets removed in fight. There are also basically no leather-look armors in game that i v'e seen.

Hopefully they add 'dyes' in banner lord it'd be nice if we could customize the armours to be the colour we want them to >.>

I didn't took refining into account (my list would be quite long otherwise)

There do exist some goidelic and pictish light armor with intermediate stats [something like 8 head 21 body 10 leg] (irish and pictish cities or tier 3+4 unit drops)

The helmet gets removed but you still get the stats from a helmet worn in the slot (so no problem about that) - only if you really want to see your helmet

On my own i do really like the already called "Norse Long Gambeson" dark grey with some pelts wrapped around the body with awesome stats

"Leather Look" armor are some of the frisian gambesons

No unique light/medium armor exist - if you don't count Troll's Tunic (not obtainable through normal play)

Thanks for the info about the helm, i didnt know it kept the stats; and although elf's helmet do look awesome, it might be a real option for the irish armor if stats don't change.

Well, the refining of all the same light armors is not what i meant at begin of this topic anyway, i was asking myself if i overlooked something rare (from some secondary quest maybe?), something unique...

I might take a look for that particular norse long gambeson (the frisian stuff is not an option :P: it doesnt look that great + i've seen more of it than i'd like, thanks to the story mode). Frankly nowadays for normal travel/fighting (no quests, no sieges), i just put the normal heavy mail: it looks the best and barely affects me on horse (stamina wise) and reserve orm's and light armor for special occasions (ps: orm's is not to my taste, it looks over the top + it clips through convex shields).

If you're not opposed to the cheat menu, one of the last item ranges has "Thor's Armor", with 60 head, 25 leg armor. No head, but hooded armors remove the head anyways. Just put on a helmet.

The best light armor I've found is the bear skin that berserkers wear. It is amazing for an archer, or a two-handed weapon user - it is light enough to dodge javelins with ease, and strong enough not to care too much about arrows. Crossbows and slings will punish you though, so you better take care of those who use them.

Here are the best armors I've found for each class.

Try a bearskin armor on a female character + elfs helm or something similarly closed....and you got yourself a pretty manly "lady". Thanks for the link though.

Good to know but i don''t use cheat menu, using the legal exploits, quirks and AI dumbness instead.

I've found the irish medium armor quite pleasing lloking (forgot the exact name but they vary a bit anyway).

Well, I would not say that Brunhild is any manlier in bear skin than in her usual medium armor. I've only found one bear skin, though, and I am keeping in for myself.

A few more levels, and she is getting heavy armor. Not bad for someone who is an accomplished medic, I think.

Well, it is actually the wolf skin armor that gives the manly effect not the bear skin, my appologies (look at that Brunhildr in wolf skin pic):

PS: works on all female characters (pls don't change it Brytenwalda)
