where to buy double handed weapons(viking conquest)

i'm looking for a handy double handed axe but i don't see any, i'm like only 45 day's in and i wondered do other weapons unlock in time or are they avalible straight away?. there are Axe's but not like a dane axe sor a bearded axes, you know the ones i mean?, the type of axe a huscarl would use.

You can get one from the named weaponsmiths when you custom order stuff, and I think ive seen some 1 to 2 handed (the ones that can be either) somewhere, I forget where, but you can get them from the cheat menu if you dont care about that, or just look if one like what you want exists.

If you are looking explicitly for "dane axe" this is the wrong century im afraid, those, at least from my short googling, were common at the end of the viking age. Woodcutter is the name for the specifically two handed axe, or I think "frankish axe" is also a two handed. Im sure someone has a better explanation.

There is a really powerful two-handed axe held by the 'troll' at the troll's bridge in Danmark. It used to require Str 25, but now it is down to 21, which is quite obtainable.

But at the end of the day, I prefer having a shield, and if not, I'll go for speed over damage. Thus, a sword.

Im still not used to that being an axe, i keep forgetting. It used to be a club. So yeah there is that one too, and its ridiculously powerful, but yeah no shield.

I think for a while the creators put in giant axes because people kept demanding them even though they are not historically accurate.

That was patch 1.04 Beta according to the video, which seems like a while back. I assume its been removed since then. Or its not literally called "Dane axe" in game, I didnt bother watching the whole video, no idea if he showed inventory. Theres a two handed axe called "woodcutter" and theres the trolls axe, both are huge two handed axes, there are also some one/two hand axes, I personally stick to swords, but if it isnt in the cheat menu, it isnt in the game anymore, they changed some things for the reforged patch, removing some axes might have been one of the things.

If its just appearance, I dont personally know how to do it, but im sure you could reskin woodcutter or something into whatever kind of axe you wanted, im sure someone on the taleworlds forum could help you out if there isnt already a mod, big axes has been a pretty common request, id be surprised if someone hasnt made a mod for it yet.

There are a bunch of 1H/2H axes in the game. I see them in the shops all the time. Travel around to different areas and check with the weapon merchants. They are really very easy to find for me.

I think the one handed axes are better than the larger ones though. The best axe in the game in my opinion is the big pictish axe. 1H/2H weapons have damage and speed penalties when used one handed. So if you plan to use a shield then a normal 1H weapon is better.

If you don't want to use a shield then there are a number of 1H/2H options and at least one 2H option available. A 1H/2H weapon functions exactly like a 2H weapon if used two handed.

You can buy a 2H AXE (name: Woodcutter, swing 42c, speed 75, weapon reach 110, requires strength 12) in tunsberg. Go (talk) to "atli the weaponsmith" and choose the answer " I like your weapons, but i need something more....special" then you choose " I´d like something else, surprise me" ( 4 options, 10000 pennings) if you have luck, you get the woodcutter. woodcutter with tuning (swing 44c, speed 73, weapon reach 110)

also you can get the wolf and bear armor in your refuge, if you talk to the armor merchant and choose the same answers...
go to youre refuge, take a walk around youre refuge and (talk) to the armor guy (i thing you gonna hire the armor guy first) (hire staff) and choose the answer " I like your weapons, but i need something more....special" then you choose " I´d like something else, surprise me" ( 4 options, i think 19000 pennings) blabla blub...luck, luck, luck
i get a Bear Byrnie, 13 to head armor, 47 to body armor and 25 to leg armor
the Wolf Byrnie looks a little bit better (more bling-bling) but have 12 to head armor
