Capturing Nobles in Viking Conquest

It's so hit or miss. I thought it happened if I personally defeated the noble but alas out of the past 4 I've hunted down and whalloped only 1 has become my captive. though the 6900 pennigas ransom was worth it.

In most mods, there is a flat chance of 30% to capture a lord. (Technically, a 70% chance for a lord to escape, in the cf_check_hero_can_escape_from_player entry in scripts.txt)

I have not seen anything to make me think that Viking Conquest is any different. In any case, I have tried to leave the lord for last, and personally knock him down, which in at least one mod guarantees a capture. Not in Viking Conquest.
