LOTR Trolls
Anyone know how to get trolls in the Last Days of the Third Age mod when you play as Isengard/Mordor?

When Saruman gives you the quest to capture him a troll, make sure to get two (you can't capture three, after the second it only gives you the option to kill them) and ask for the second as your own. You can also spend a resource of some sort (I don't remember which) to give it armour.

Do u only get the quest once?

No you can get it several times, but it's a random quest so might be a while before you get it again.

Also, trolls are Hella expensive, so unless you desperately need it, keep it locked up at your home town.

Where do you find the trolls. Saruman said by the misty mountains, but i have been up and down the range and havent seen any. Also the talking troll does nothing.

Wild trolls spawn near the Troll cave, it's not the troll NPC in the cave.

Now you can just ask the troll in charge of the barracks for a troll: it costs 16 Influence points. If you want to get armour for the troll, you have to get the troll leveled up to a "trained" troll first (see its troop tree), then Go to the Main Square of any camp and visit the Smithy and pick the right conversation topic - do NOT go straight to the smithy via the "Visit Makeshift Smithy" option in the camp page; you will bypass the conversation topic this way and instead go straight to the items on sale. Hope this helps; please like it if you find this useful, thanks.

You can get more than one troll, but keep them alive: you can't talk to them to see how many more experience points you need before they level up to be trained trolls. The trolls usually head towards the enemy when the battle starts; I keep them alive by moving my cavalry to one side of the enemy and charging their archers when my trolls come under fire. I also move my infantry and archers off to the other side so the enemy is attacked from three different directions, preventing them from concentrating their fire on the trolls. And move your troops to the sides right at the start of the battle!! The trolls are impatient and will knock everyone out of the way if they don't get a move on!

I did seem to manage to get my trolls to wait while I picked the Gondorian archers off the wall when I joined in an assault on West Osgiliath by using the commands "Everyone" and "Hold this Position" (0, then hold F1, move your mouse to point at where you want them to go, then release the F1 button). I'll let you know more when my trolls get upgraded with armour - if I can keep them alive that long! They don't come cheap either: upkeep for wild trolls is 720 resource points each!
