Deleted wrong save, way to restore?
hi all, i was playing viking conquest & had 3-4 saves for the one account & i decided to delete them all but my last one... unfortunatly i didnt take quite enough time to make sure i didnt delete the one i wanted lol, my bad anyways is there a way to restore a game you deleted? the deleted saves dont show up in the recycle bin so is there a place they go to? or do they actually just get deleted without a recycle bin stop? thanks

ps. its about 4 hours iv lost, so its enough to put off playing for the day to see if i can restore it but not enough to worry about if i cant none the less thanks for any help.

OS win 7.

You might be able to find a save in C drive, Documents, Warband savegames, Viking Conquest. But I'm not exactly sure how to restore that save.

Large files will often get deleted without sitting in the recycle bin. If you use file recovery software it is sometimes posible to recover the deleted file if you do it right away but there is often some missing data. Any missing data would likely corrupt the save. When a file is deleted in Windows the data actually remains where it is but the file header just changes to flag it as available space. Over time this data will get overwritten with other data and the origninal data will be lost.

There is a backup save file within Viking Conquest. To access it you just have to copy and rename it to match the file name for one of your save slots and then replace the file for that slot.

Hi Varcisis, the game store your latest savegame in your documents/Mount&Blade Warband Savegames/Viking Conquest/last_savegame_backup.sav. Rename this file to sg00.sav (or the slot you want) and load in your game.

The backup save probably isn't corrupt so you should give it a try.
