Taking prison key?

I'm trying to rescue someone in prison but he says he has chains, and I need to "somehow" find a key and unlock it. How do you do it?

If you talk to him, it should come up with an available option regarding it.

talk to him bribe him at first and then say the keys to the prison now. that will initiate combat with ALL guards garrisoned there

Talk to the guard
threaten him.
He will begin combat with you.
Kill him go into the prison,
free the prisoner,
exit,
Kill all the remaining guards.
Profit.

I want to see a prisoner > I thought you were the boss > give me the keys now > fight > enter prison > talk to prisoners > fight your way out

Also, save the game before you talk to the guard because sometimes this will get bugged and require you to shut down and reopen the game to fix it.

Sooo its not giving me the option to ask for the keys. I am at war with the kingdom. I got to the guard and I bride him but then I just get teleported in the jail and can see the prisioner but cannot talk to him or free him.

Do not bribe him. Just threaten him for the keys.

Bribing lets you see the prisoner without violence, and opens another way to solve the quest, a much inferior one which requires preparation that you probably have not done, by the way.

It doesnt give me an option to threaten the guard ): I just say "All right"

There are two jailbreaks in it, one is pretty much the first thing that happens. Are your dialogues different? Then you are playing a mod, and should tell us which one.

Yea the options were different. I don't know what you mean by playing on a mod. I just bought the game off steam, didnt add mods. However I did fix the problem by using the editor mode. I simply just removed the barriers between myself and the jailed lord and I was able to talk to him and escape. Thank you for responding so quickly though.

If your dialogue with the guard is different, you may have been playing a different mod.

Or maybe we are talking at cross purposes. There are some maps in which the prisoners are improperly placed, and after killing or bribing the guard, you simply cannot easily get a prompt to "Press [F] to talk." In that case, moving around a bit works.
