Troops aren't spawning.
My company has a total of 132/154 soldiers and I confronted a large group of 1499 deserters. The battles where i'm outnumbered are manageable due to the fact that they don't all spawn at once and that there's usually an equal amount of troops on both my and the enemy's side, but in this fight I am only able to take six soldiers in at once no matter how many are actually fit for combat. My entire company can be fit for fighting and I end up having only six of my own spawn in with me to take on a large number of enemies. My battle size is set to 70 because i'm running this on my laptop since my desktop computer 'died'. So to be more direct about the issue, what is the problem causing me to only take six members of my company at a time into battle, and how would I fix this?

are you using mods cause a group of 1.4k deserters are impossible as they spawn from a lords army

Your battle advange is like minus a gazillion. That's the reason you only get 6 guys. You're THAT heavily outnumbered. You only get your full complement of guys if both armies can fit within the battle size. Once there's more soldiers (yours + enemy) in a battle it'll start scaling off your battle advantage. So at -1 battle advantage you might get 30 and the enemy 40 (at battle size 70) - At -2 you might get 25 and the enemy 45 - These are just rough numbers, but you get the idea.

The battle advantage takes in your reknown and tactics level I believe. For instance, if you set the battle size to 30 and have an army of 30 and high tactics, you can usually manhandle a much larger force, but if you set the battlesize to 150 and have a group of 30, you will likely be overwhelmed and killed because of how the system works. You can actually win in a 30 vs 150 scenario but it requires heavily commanding decent troops of decent quality.

The battle advantage is, afaik, a comparison of the size of the two forces, modified by the tactics skill (+1 battle advantage every 2 levels, so max of +5, or +7 if you have companions to boost it further).
Whether it's numerical difference or a ratio, I'm not certain...

no mods, not really sure how they amassed that many either.

They probably grew slowly by defeating more and more troops until they became a godly 1,000. Honestly, at level 36-ish, most deserters hit 120s, and bandits hit around 30 - 60.

Assuming your tactics skill is zero? 132 vs 1499. You have 8% of the total force. Your cap is set at 70. 8% of 70 is 5.6, hence your 6 guys. Increase your tactics skill, get other lords to join you when attacking such a force, or don't attack them in the first place. An army that large cannot be moving that quickly.
