My favourite mod is A Clash of Kings, it's based on the Game of Thrones series of books (ASOIAF).

As for where - the Taleworlds forums have a great section on mods, with moddb being an excellent source.

Every mod for warband is a must have as you can have unlimited amounts of them :D

Having said that A clash of kings is an excellent single player mod if you do like your game of thrones. If you aren't so keen then 'Sword of Damocles' is like an expanded version of native (12 factions including the original 6, bigger map, new equipment, new diplomacy options).

The 'diplomacy mod' is prehaps the most universal 'must have' mod for warband, however almost every other mod includes it already (as its just that good)!

In terms of multiplayer many people enjoy cRPG which adds persistant character development to multiplayer (not my thing as i don't like grinding). The Persistent world mod and its submods are also very popular and a very unique gaming experince.

You can only use one mod at a time, and most of the popular ones (like Clash of Kings and Prophecy of Pendor) are total conversion mods that completely change the game and make it significantly harder.

If you just want the enhanced vanilla experience try the Diplomacy mod, or maybe Floris (which includes Diplomacy).

I would like to make it clear that what lionhart means is that you can only be currently playing one mod at a time, though you can have as many installed and ready to be played as you like

Floris Mod for example is great.

I tend to shy away from the Total Conversion mods. They seem to have questionable balance (Especially Floris, with Rhodok's being by far and away the BEST faction, able to destroy any other 5-1). I stick to graphical mods, a lighting ENB mod and Diplomacy.

Diplomacy is basically if you want to play Vanilla, but...better. It adds SO many subtle options when it comes to ruling and gameplay, i can't play without it.

Prophesy of Pendor is great, but you have to be really careful in picking your fights.

thx - for answers.

What would you suggest - i´m a newbie at the game
1. start normal and play a while or
2. install floris or diplomacy only to play vanilla (the game´s behavior is normal)

I want to play the game not totaly converted at beginning (maybe later when i know the game).
for the moment i only want to get the best graphic possible.

Are the mods only for english-version ore also for german possible.

Floris is a large compilation of mods so it makes a lot of feature changes, but doesn't change the setting of Calradia (which is my definition of conversion). I'd pick that one if I were you.

I'd get diplomacy at least, it's still native with just some improvements.
For graphics i recommend
Cinematic Compilation 3.0 + Better Skyboxes + Better Banners

If you want something that changes gameplay go with diplomacy or freelancer (It includes diplomacy, pbod and freelancing all in one, or just get floris.

Skip the total conversion mods for now.

It's too bad many of the mods aren't updated with the latest version. Used to be just pick a time period of history you want to play and there was a mod.
Most time I spent was on Brytenwalda (I think that's how it's spelled), was a dark age Britain mod. Was very amazing.
Hundred Years War mod was great. Loved the full-plate battles between French and English.

Anything 1.153+ should work fine with current version.
anno domini is pretty tight. Its probably a bit more advanced. Its not impossible but its harder than vanilla in some aspects. I'd just play vanilla for awhile before getting full conversions like anno domini, clash of kings, etc. ive put over 300 hours into vanilla so vanilla doesnt get stale for awhile. If you get bored of it though I HIGHLY recommend anno domini. Its all of europe and some of middle east asia in the 1200s. Including the crusades if you like those. Its pretty ballin.

Freelancer, which includes Diplomacy and PBOD.
