Empty the garrisons and just take them back.
King's army will be a problem, you'll need to get some nobles on your side to join you in battle against him.
I tried emptying a garrison from a castle, declaring war on the king, taking the castle, and waiting for him to attack. He lost over half of his 700-strong army trying to take it. I love defending. I even managed to kill the 300 leftovers with whatever I had left in my army. However, when I kill kil or when he runs away, he retreats to Sargoth and just carries on. I thought if I killed him I'd take over his kingdom.
It works with native save games
If I captured the king, could I make him give me his kingdom? Nobody would come to save him anyway.
Yes, I should have rebelled after taking the last enemy city on the map. Is there a way to edit savegames maybe?
I'll try the diplomacy mod. But I want to get the achievement for capturing the whole map.
I already destroyed his main army and am slowly pushing him back city after city. :)
