Noob Quest Help
Hey all. One of the noobs who started playing for the free weekend. Probably gonna buy it because it's been pretty great in the last two hours or so I've played it.

But I require assistance. I received a side quest from a Jarl I ran into on the map. Now I'm sure the quests are randomly generated, so I just need some help as to what I might be doing wrong.

He pointed me to the village of Kulum, wanting me to hunt down a fugitive. Well, I'm at the village, and have walked around it and all around the surrounding area and have talked to all the villagers. No sign of him. I can't go inside any buildings, and all the villagers tell me to look hard enough and I'll find him.

What, if anything, am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

I had trouble with this one as well (except somewhere in Swadia, you're correct they are randomly generated). I also picked this game up recently and I'm totally loving it now I've built up a solid core of veterens and I've captured 3 Jarls to date :D

In one of the instances I looked around and asked the villagers and elder and they all said just look around, turned out a Nervous Man was standing around the corner about 5 meters from the Elder in a really odd spot. Basically look everywhere and there will be a Nervous Man standing still somewhere, he doesnt seem to move anywhere (kind of like Elders).

Once you find him he'll attack you so be ready for a fight, once he's down you can turn in the quest with the guy who gave it to you.

Ah. So I do actually need to look harder then. Fair enough. Thanks.

Firstly, unlike most criminals, this one ONLY appears during the day. So make sure it's not evening or later, nor early morning or earlier. They need to sleep too.

Secondly, you can't enter any buildings and all the NPCs are covertly (and not so covertly) supporters of this known terrorist. So don't expect any help from them.

Thirdly, this fugitive is an attention-sexual service provider. When you get close enough for to see his 'tag, you'll see something like "nervous" or "peeing his pants". When you see that, you know you've got the right man (it's always a man too, darn misogynistic devs). Just to make it easier for you to find him, he'll usually be standing still next to a building on the outskirts of the village (but not very far away from the village center).

Lastly, you'll take a relationship penalty from the village (obviously lawless separatist scum). You can avoid this by 'exiting' really quickly (i.e. fire an arrow to his head... hit TAB the moment you see the "Mission Accomplished!" message).

Well, I don't know. I've looked all over the village of Kulum during the day, looked around every single building, and in the water, and around the fields surrounding the place. Everyone is moving and there is no one standing still at all except for the village elder and I haven't seen anything resembling someone being nervous or peeing their pants.

I give up. It's a little disheartening that I can't complete a quest so early into the game.

The guy is often standing behind a building, and he dosent move. He has different clothes than the villagers also. But I have also had problems finding them sometimes, just keep looking and you will eventually find him.

I've spent 30 minuttes looking for these guys sometimes - And when you eventually find him (as someone else said it's always a guy) - And he IS there, somewhere, in the village- I'd be like "Why the beep didn't I see him earlier???"

Yeah I just decided to go off and continue the second main quest to find the group of bandits who took the guys brother. Also the King decided, hey, random guy, go collect taxes for me. So I did.

I think I'll purchase this game tomorrow through my PayPal account so I don't have to worry about not having the money for it.

There are some villages that have buildings outside the main village, like a windmill on a hill, the man is always there,

Criminals are only visible during day time. Easy if you have townfolk on the streets the criminal is visible.
Good hunting.

I thought it was bugged till I saw this and found a little fenced in farming patch just outside the cluster of buildings.

After two years still nobody found out that silly fugitive was the only clearly armed guy in the whole village, besides you.

That's how you bring life to a 2 years old necro.
