does the horn do anything (VikingConquest) (spoiler alert_) (read if you dare)
hi i recent got the horn trumpet thing and in the description it says that it boosts morale during battle.. what does this mean exactly? do soldier stats improve or something? ever since i got it i've been spamming it in every battle but i haven't noticed any differences and it doesn't even say anything like where the text is about some sort of effect. is this just a useless for fun item???? sorry for bad spanish ..

I think it improves the morale of your men post battle. I.e, sound the horn during a skirmish and you'll get 15morale after the fight instead of 5. It's good if you want to take first claim on all the loot

whats the difference between taken the first claim on the loot than sharing it? when you share you can still take all the loot and you dont get any negatives from it. is it like that first claim has stuff thats worth more on average or something?

Actually sometimes they'll get mad at you if they don't love you as if you were god, who wore armor and was human.

I think it keeps the troops brave durring battle. Like when facing a larger or more powerful force, they won't break and run away as easily. The Standard Bearer does the same thing I think.

I've never faced an enemy army that had either, and I often see a message saying stuff like, "The enemy leader has fallen, their men have lost morale" or something like that just before a bunch of them run away.

Troops have a chance of fleeing in battle. If you kill 25% of the enemy real fast you'll lower their morale and they might try and flee. If you go down you also get a message that your guys are afraid. It basicly makes your men less likely to rout.

Yeah I think it just help rally troops during battle. This makes it a pretty useless waste of a weapon slot to actually use in my opinion.
I just noticed on the right side of my camp screen under "camp info" it says;

Standard Bearer: 1
Leadership Bonus: 1 (max 3)

Musican: 4
Tactics Bonus: 1 (max 3)

I have one standard bearer, and four hornmen, and my army size is 30 / 68. I'm not sure how the size effects those guys or the bonuses. I'm not sure whether the bonuses are increased by the number of those troops, or if my leadership and tactics skills determine the bonuses. My tactis skill is six, and my leadership skill is two.

maybe if you use like bow and arrow and sword and shield, but i usually go with long melee weapon and shield and short melee weapon so i usually have a slot free so i think its a pretty nice use of a weapon slot
I've seen people use a horn in multi player, and I got a message that said something like it psyched me up(I forget the exact phrase), and a bit later it said it had worn off.

Yea, the horns in multiplayer typically, at least from what I've seen, can make you take more hits for sure and I think swing faster.

I still think a stack of javelins would be better. You can find stacks of up to 12 (horseman javelins). Even 4 standard javs would be of some use but there are a few different types of lootable javelins with larger stacks.

I can't speak to the utility of items in multiplayer though since I stick to single player.

My typical loadout for myself in VC is a spear, axe, shield, and javelins. Most of my companions I give axe, shield, and two stacks of javelins. My healers may get bows or crossbows instead of javelins. Some others like to use swords instead of axes which is a reasonable choice as well. There are other viable setups of course.

eh my aim isn't very good so i dont find any use in carrying javelins just to waste them or just to get one person than having a horn which is kinda cool
