my warband via steam wont launch after using wse
so i downloaded warsword conquest and use the wse as the instuctions told. in the mod's folder, there is this folder called "1.174 original steam exe for steam users", i believe its for the backup exe. after i finished playing the mod, i started warband from steam but i forgot to use the original exe so it just wont launch. after i delete the mnb warband old exe then i use that original steam exe backup, it launched as how it should be but i noticed that all the mods that i downloaded from the workshop isnt there. i delete that exe then i verify integrity game cache so it downloaded the original files for warband but now it just wont launch... it acted the same like when i still use the mnb warband old exe for wse... i mean like when i use the wse, the warband steam wont launch right. fyi the exe from "1.174 original steam exe for steam users" is 5,439mb while before the original ORIGINAL steam version is 5,237mb

i could just copy the mods from 48700 folder and rename it but i dont want to copaste everytime there is an update for the mods... i just wanted my game to be normal again
pls helpp

sorry for my bad english and grammar

You've broken your computer and need a new one. :steammocking:

Nah, Windows stores game data in hidden folders. If that's the case, the game uses that data. You can verify your game files as much as you want, it doesn't help. Welcome to Window's wonderful world of user-friendliness.

  • Open the Control Panel.
  • Choose Folder Options under Appearance and Personalization.
  • Click the Options icon on the right of the ribbon.
  • In the Folder Options dialog box, select the View tab.
  • Select Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
  • Delete the hidden Warband folder.

I just copy and paste one of M.ArdA_TW's older posts in which he describes the problem and how to do a clean install of the game. He also describes where to find your hidden Warband files. Before you do a complete clean install, try to delete those hidden files and check your game files via Steam. Perhaps this works and you save a lot of time. If this doesn't work, you can still re-install the game. Good luck.

-Clean Install:
The clean install is removing every single game related file from your computer and installing the game again. If any of the game files changed somehow they could possibly be preventing the game from launching. To do that:
Uninstall the game. You can do that by right clicking the game on Steam Library and selecting Delete Local Content.
Delete all folders related to the game that remains after the uninstallation. The folders that might have files inside:
My Documents > Mount&Blade Warband & Mount&Blade Warband Savegames folders.
If you have used Steam Workshop to install modifications, Steam > steamapps > workshop > content > 48700 folder.
If you have manually installed modifications, Modules folder inside game install directory.
AppData folder C:\Users\your-username\AppData\Roaming\Mount&Blade Warband
Note: You'll need to allow Windows to display hidden folders and files to see the AppData folder and its contents.
At this stage, everything related to the game on your computer is deleted. Now you can re-install the game and try launching the game again.
