Can't give out fiefs?
Decided that I had enough of Mercing around so I captured a city and appointed a local to be my chancellor.

However, I can't seem to talk to him and tell him I want to distribute my fiefs. There's no option for that.

Now, usually I just let my wife be the chancelor and would have those options, but since I'm playing a woman, there's no wife to be speeking of, unless someone knows some shenanigans so that I can marry a woman instead of a man, I'm all for it, I still need to find a way on effectively distributing my fiefs around.

Some help be appreciated.

Choice some companion, no need more, with any you have full chancellor options,

I only get the option to ask who they think should be awarded the fief.

Nah. I like my companions to fight.

You are choosing the wrong dialog option then.
Also I agree about companions, they are much more useful as leaders of an army than fighting on the battle field.

Then I'll have a look again. Kinda used to just talking to chancelor and just saying, I want to hand out my fiefs to people.

Nope.

Just; "Whom do you think should receive the fief of *****" when I talk to a lord.

Chancellor only to replace marshall and fire him. Chancelor does say that Yalen doesn't have a lord so one is collecting taxes

So I googled this. You need to either use your wife or a companion for your chancellor. The default one won't have the option to hand out fiefs.

Just go hire a companion that doesn't get along with your other companions and assign that person as your chancellor.

Appoint any companion in your party, assign fiefs, tell the companion to rejoin your party (replaced by the default one). Fiefs get assigned, and you don't have to give anyone up.

The mod I'm playing disables companion disputes. How else do you think I have all of them.

When I do this, I can't select a local to become chancellor...

Edit.

I found this;

),

And am gonna try this. Post said something about needing modules file or something. Not too sure what that is, cuz it sounds different than the module aka vanilla/mod.

Only other thing I found was to use save editor, place a companion in a troop tree, take rhodok levy, level them up, before placing companion, selecting the companion upgrade, reset the troop tree to have 2 of 1 companion, but not too sure how to do that either.

Ok, so, I used a different save editor. Dumped myself a swadian recruit into the party and then I swapped him to one of my companions.

Once I did that I selected that companion to be my chancelor. The edited troop became chancelor while the legit companion stayed in party, now named chancelor.

So I guess it worked?

That's a lot of work for something that is stupid simple....

Like I said. When I put a companion in as chancelor I could not return him to the party and put a local back in place.

Now I have a chancelor without losing a companion in the party.
