Report a translation problem
In vanilla, it's not an extremely useful Skill and you'd be better off putting points somewhere else. The only time it's really useful is when you're doing the "Stop a War" quest, where it can save you a heck of a lot of cash. (In that quest, your options are to convince Lords to accept peace or to bribe them to accept peace.)
There are other times when it's useful, like when preventing companions from leaving the party or trying to convince NPCs to make certain choices. But, there are a multitude of other things you can do to accomplish these things and they're not "one-shot" opportunties of consequence, either, in my opinion. (For things like convincing Lords to join you, there are plenty of other modifiers that can be played to.)
So, consider Persuasion to be a "dump stat" for vanilla Warband.
BUT, for games with certain mods, it can be a much more useful stat.
So based on your post I would assume in Floris Evolved which has the diplomacy mod it's alot more useful.
