How does "Right to rule" work?
I've assisted the Rhodoks in taking over almost every single castle and major city on the map, and I have not recived ONE fief aside from Emer. Apparently, everyone (even vassals I haven't seen in one battle) has more of a "right to rule" than I do XD How do I get that up so I can be a big boy, too? ;_;

I'm not sure if right to rule matters in getting fiefs, but I know that talking to one of your companions and telling them that you aspire to be king of the land and then they will go out and spread the word about you. Once you have your own faction you can gain right to rule by making peace

Okay so basically tell all my companions "I WANNA BE KING WHEN I GROW UP :D" and they'll spread the word and eventually people will be like "HE WANTS TO BE KING- GIVE HIM A CASTLE FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!" right?

Not at all. The king will hear, and he will like you less for it, which will make it harder for you to get a castle. It is not major, and if he already likes you a lot, you will quickly regain the lost ground, but no, Right To Rule does NOTHING to help you to get fiefs assigned to you.

Here is what helps:
- being liked by the king
- having high renown
- having low controversy
- everyone in the realm having fiefs corresponding to their renown
- having led the siege and assault of the fortification
- having convinced other nobles to support your claim

Alright so persuade people, being the marshal, become a You-Tube star, being buddy-buddy with the king or staying out of the gossip magazines. gotcha :3 Thanks!

You got it... except for being the marshal. Being the marshal helps with leading the siege and assault, but makes you very likely to end with high controversy. So, it is better if you can pull it off without being the marshal - either by yourself, or with lords who follow you because they like you.

I just found out I'm good friends with the marshal, so maybe I could get him, the king and some other guy to follow me, eh? ;3

Actually, telling your companions to spread the word about you wanting to be king doesn't lower your relation with the king, but it appear to do so when you talk to him after sending your companions out.

I basically kissed the king's backside until he really liked me. When an enemy took Shiraz, I singlehandedly retook the city because the enemy didn't have time to fortify it. I told the king I wanted Shiraz and I got it. Easy.

I tried to blockade Shiraz once. Litterally two seconds before my allies came to help me- the whole of the Sarranid army came to stomp me into the ground.... "There are 567 men ready for battle against your 47."

Right to rule dosen't affect fiefs. Give the king a few metaphorical blowjobs and he'll give you fiefs. The system is corrupt, but it's intentionally corrupt.

So basically suck up as much as possible? I've got my relations with him to 14, so if I do a few tasks for him, aid him in battle and tell him how beautiful he looks in the morning, I should be okay =3

Basically, yes. Quest mostly for him, help him if he ever gets his аss off his throne, and if he does not, run back to him every time you defeat an enemy lord, so that he can pat you on the head.
