Force single threading?

What does it do? Will it help? I do not seem to find any difference but I'm pretty sure it makes at least a little.

Long story short, if you're having problems like crashing and runtime errors, then it can mean that m&b is multi-threading on a single processor or vice versa. Not so much a performance tweak, but more of a fix if things are going haywire.
