Viking Conquest: Why did my companion vassal Helgi convert to christianity? Can I re convert him?

I am playing a Viking and after a long time of looting and burning monestaries have finally taken Friese as a Kingdom. I made Helgi a vassal and soon after he converted to christianity. I don't want any christian lords, but I can not figure out how to convert him. Otherwise, I will just declare him a traitor and banish him if that is my only option. If you have found out how to convert vassals I would be glad to hear from you.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like Helgi became pagan again and a different vassal converted to christianity. I don't think they really added any depth to religion anyway so it doesn't seem to change anything.

Yeah lords randomly just convert pretty weird.
