How do you build your character in Viking Conquest ?
What is considered a good build ? Go all out STR ?
And what is the best secondary stat AGI or INT ?

All in most Mount and Blade mods, there are two great builds: Str+Agi and Str+Int, the combat beast and the glorious leader. One thing to keep in mind is that in Viking Conquest, you only get one stat point every 5 levels, so your character stats will remain mostly what the are at startup. Even a level 40+ character will only increase his starts by 10 to 12 points.

My best character is Strength and Agility based, and now that both are maxed, he is slowly increasing Intelligence. Here is a screenshot, three levels ago. Obviously, he is a combat beast. He owns seven cities, and is a loyal Saxon vassal.

Something to keep in mind is that you can get at least four extra stat points from various sources:
- two (Str+Int) from the proper resolution of a random event
- one (random) from a human sacrifice to the Old Gods
- one (Int) from a book

The character above only got a single point from the event. Here is a free hint: do not have a city as fief unless you have at least 20,000 gold saved, and do not touch them until you get the stats from the event.

Cool thanks. Are bows good weapon choice now ? I saw some old guide said they are bad.

Bows are nowhere as good as they are in Native, because they are inaccurate, cannot be used from horseback, and a lot of the gear hinders their use. (As you can see, by character is shieldless and almost naked, and still has a draw penalty. In full armor, there is a triple penalty - from the shield, helm and body armor)

Still, they are pretty damn good - you can play as a dragoon (shoot, ride away, dismount, shoot) and of course, they still rule in sieges, once your weapon proficiency gets high enough to negate the bow's low accuracy and be able to shoot people in the leg.

Still, if I were starting a character now, I'd stick to javelins. Once you kill some Irish, and stock up on horseman javelins, you can ride around with 56 javelins. As for sieges, crossbows are no worse than bows, and need no skill points.

How to get into those events ?

The events happen randomly, if you happen to satisfy a set of requirements, which is different for each event. The one that gives you a chance of extra stats, if I recall correctly, goes like this... You have to own a city. Then, as you are visiting your city, there is a chance to be approached by two men, who want to build, respectively, a training hall or a hall of learning. Each wants a bunch of gold, I believe 10,000. You can send them packing, help one, or help both. Make sure that if you get a city as fief, you always keep 20,000 in your pocket.

The human sacrifice can be performed by finding a druid, not a gothi, in one of the special locations on the map, I believe the one where you find Dwywei. You need to have a prisoner, but I am not sure whether any prisoner will do, or whether there happened to be something special about the one I had.
