It may be that your drivers aren't playing nice with win10, I had to rollback my video drivers because the new ones weren't playing nice with win10 and causing complete system lockups.
You could also try altering some of the settings to see if that helps, load textures on demand being the primary one to check.
You should also check to see if vanilla M&B has the same issues.
I would, if I were you, roll back to windows 7. Windows 10 tries to auto-update itself in very intrusive ways and is still technically spyware.
If I could go back to win 7 I would in a heartbeat.
Except that the free windows 10 stuff ended yesterday.
Maybe, changing up some settings or maybe your processor?
Windows 10 is also not much better than 7 performance wise, with the only real improvement as far as gaming goes being the supposed directx 12, which so far, very few games actually use, and a signifigant number thereof have performance issues when in directx12 rendering. Even with directx12, the biggest number I've heard for the supposed performance boost is 20%. This will have little effect for anyone who doesn't use a 144hz monitor or on weaker hardware.
For that matter, windows 10 also has almost twice as many processes running at idle in the taskman after boot as windows 7 did, and this is after my disabling of the majority of non-essential programs and services in windows 10.
Performance isnt better in gaming yet, but in a few years, games will be significantly better optimised for 10, assuming there even is support for 7.
As for the idle processes, my laptop started running way better after installing 10, well "installing" considering it did it automatically, which I agree is bad, but has nothing to do with windows 10 itself, and my desktop is powerful enough that is doesnt matter, whilest still running slightly better. This makes it better to me. Like I said, its subjective, everybody has their own preferences.
That you would claim windows 7 spys the same amount as 10 is a sign that you don't know what you are talking about. For that matter, there is a line in the windows 10 EULA/License agreement that outright states that microsoft will collect data without explicitly notifying you, and that line is hid within tons of other text, where you will only notice it if you actually read the agreements.
Using the same third-party firewalls and net monitors as on 7, I've found daily outgoing connections on 10 that were not present on 7, all of which are headed to microsoft servers.
That windows 10 spies on users in an invasive manner is proven fact, something that microsoft themselves admitteded in the EULA/license agreement. Windows 7 only had the daily check for updates, and a few checks related to some programs and the clock/calender. Only about a third as many as windows 10, and far less frequently.
Some of these outbound signals on 10 originate from microsoft .dlls that are required for windows to function.
There is also the issue of code being injected into programs compiled through microsoft's visual basic editor on windows 10 that took hardware and program statistics, with the programmers of the program having no clue it was there.
Windows 10 is shady as ♥♥♥♥, plain and simple.
The automated install upgrade is abusive as ♥♥♥♥, considering microsoft at one point had it set up so that even if you clicked the cancel on the offer, it would install anyway. It was also forcing downloads of windows 10 before permission for install was obtained, which can cause all kinds of problems.
There is also the issue of it forcing installs on hardware that cannot handle windows 10 in the first place.
There is a ton of objective data regarding the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that goes on within windows 10.
It is not subjective that windows 7 is better than 10 on multiple levels.
Even now, choosing to allow microsoft to install updates to windows 10 runs the risk of your computer getting stuck in a loop of failed install attempts for days, in many cases forcing users to have to re-install windows.
Windows 10 also obfuscates accessing boot settings and bios/UEFI. Which makes it hard to install other OSes, and makes dual-booting extremely difficult to set up for your average joe.
Windows 10 is cancer to anyone who actually looks at it's innards.
“Arguing that you don’t care about privacy because you have nothing to hide is not different than saying you don’t care about free speech because you have nothing to say.”
Just because it is how windows 10 is doesn't mean we should accept the utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and frankly terrifying spying and other ethically bankrupt ♥♥♥♥ it tries to pull.
