No one makes mods for VC since it would be a timewaste due to bannerlord being pretty close.
No point in starting up a mod for an old game when new one with better tools is coming just around the corner.
:)
Its been 2 years dude and bannerlord just went into beta, how stupid do you feel now? :P
That information that was currently on two years ago was when they DIDNT consider re-making completely their engine.
They literally used 1.5 years on creating completely new parts of the engine from nothing and retraining their staff.
VCRE is already alot more complex than native but more complexity and diplomacy like seen in supermods such as POP would be very welcome. However it being a dlc which is just owned by a fraction of M&B:WB players is likely the main reason why most modders stay with native.
The A World of Ice and Fire mod is based on the Viking Conquest engine and utilizes alot of its unique features (naval battles, dog companions etc.). You don´t need the DLC in order to play it.
Take note that the comment you replied to is almost 4 years old. AWOIAF mod didnt even exist at that point, and Bannerlord hadnt yet posted their newsletter about complete engine rewrite project which pushed back Bannerlord for years.
Also, nobody did really make any big mods for the original VC before they had to completely rework it to make it playable.
Also, youre wrong, A world of Ice and fire mod DOESNT use Viking Conquest as the base of their mod, they use Brytenwalda base code as the start point, and original Viking Conquest mod was using Brytenwalda mod as their base, before they almost complelely had to remaster the whole Viking conquest DLC.
Both Viking Conquest original and AWOIAF are using Brytenwalda as base mod.
Instead of being the always wrong "Expert" you should take a look at the official release thread of AWOIAF and see how often "taken from VC" or "taken VC code" is mentioned. https://www.moddb.com/mods/a-world-of-ice-and-fire/news/a-world-of-ice-and-fire-v10
"Also a big thanks to the guys on the VC team for not only creating some of the awesome code I have used but for also allowing others to make use of it." - AWOIAF dev
In easy words just for you they ported/included alot of the VC unique stuff. Thats what I mean by VC engine but you can interpret it as "included VC engine code" if it relaxes your butt cheeks.
Also the info that AWOIAF has alot of the VC features wasn´t meant for you but as information for people with a similar question like the OP, so get over it.
BannerLord will never be coming out though which is sad. It looked like a really good game.
