Mods Vs. Native
Which does everyone like more? Mods or Native

And if you picked mods which ones are your favorite? Which are the most difficult ones?

Mods definitely. There are mods that just improve native, without changing the feel, so that alons makes them better. I like a ton of mods and I don't really have a favourite.
It's still best to play native for a few days to learn the game first though, plus that way you know what's part of the game and what was added by a mod.

Native is fun for the first go around. Then it's Nova Aetas or ACOK. Nova Aetsas just did a new version worth checking out too.

Is that on Steam?

It should be.

Also, there are plenty of mods that expand on Native and add in the most popular and useful community scripts. Floris Modpack is a good example of this.

native is just the basic game, and that by itself is already great
almost every mod adds to that, some mods are just new settings and nothing else, most mods have a ton of features that are great

like Diplomacy for instance, it's become a regular for almost every mod
I haven't played Native for years, I just can't get myself to enjoy it anymore when there are mods out there with so many good features vanilla doesn't have

just google it
it'll be on ModDB or the taleworlds forum, just download that + updates and extract it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MountBlade Warband\Modules

There's an shader to Nova Aetas I think.....every feature the game has and info on the mod is in the Readme which is provided in the mod folder/file.

I use "Age of Calradia Enhanced"

It includes lots of useful mods and features :

DIplomacy Mod
Empire Report
Bodyguards in taverns and villages
Troop Trees
Tavern animations and sounds
New female faces
All bandit trees fully upgradeable to a unique troop.
Hundreds of new armors and weapons.
You are able to recruit bandits, sword sisters, manhunters and mercenaries from taverns.
All factions now have a tier 6 unit.
Cows will now follow you!

Played Native for about 60 hours, but after installing Floris Expanded I can't look back. Only other big converstion mod I tried was Prophecy of Pendor, I think that's definately pretty damn difficult if that's what you're after.

I prefer playing with mods. I tried Floris, AD 1257, Prophesy of Pendor and Native Expansion.
Vanilla version is quite fun, but at some point you decide to get full party of mamluks and just shread everything in pieces, then you start feeling that the game starting lacking something more.

The PoP mod is a hard one, and it has its own map, history, own factions, units, npcs (aggressive ones, not just thieves or bandits) and it's quite fun (one thing I was annoyed by was constant demands from a village elder to come over and solve some problems). I'd say this one is the most difficult.

AD 1257 is a big replica of medieval Europe with huge amount of towns and villages, each territory has its own units, and the mod makers really tried to make it as close to real history as possible, so it's pretty epic (it's a lot about lancer knights with beautiful outfits lol). I love it very much, the only thing that bothered me there is that because of the quantity of different locations, of the different lords and units and the size of the map the ctrl+space speed-up tends to be a little laggy, and it gets annoying after 3-4 hours of playing. But still super fun and looks amazing.

The 'Native Expansion's' mod name sais all for itself. You fell like playing a vanilla version with some additional features, cool ones though. The 'dark knights' invasion is something I couldn't deal with lol.

Floris mod is actually a compilation of a big number of various mods (afaik), and it makes the game whole different. There are the same map, factions, the basic theme, but all reworked: big upgrade trees up to tier 7 (which takes a whole while to level up). My favorite part of this mod is the possibility to enlist in some lord's (or king's) army and become just one of the army's unit with no possibility of commanding anyone or move on the map (but you can desert or leave the army any time), so you basically become a soldier with a wage which grows as you rank up, and you're gonna need to gain experience to climb to the next tiers (just like an npc unit you upgrade) and get proper gear for your job. This part is epic, I love it very much. I can say this mod is my favorite.

I think these are all mods I've tried so far.

So yeah, basically playing with mods is much more fun for me.

Mods are installed in the /Modules directory in the game location and are launched by choosing the proper mod from the list in the launcher, which is super convenient, you don't have to remove mods to play another one.

Propechy of Pendor is ez pz if you know what you're doing.
1. Mass up a lot of tiny ♥♥♥♥ troops, making them tier 2 at most.
2. Find one of those small elite bandit groups
3. Enter Combat and auto resolve
4. You'll lose a load of guys, but will probably win and get some op loot.

Would NeoGK count as "mods" or Native? On one hand, it's a suppliment to the Native module that lets you purchase new weapons in NeoGK servers. On the other hand, it's still native, meaning that people who don't have the mod can still play.

Adding to the Prophesy of Pendor comment train - It's what I'm playing right now, and definitely the hardest one I've played. You do become pretty powerful when you get the really good equipment yourself.

There are some more objectives besides conquer the map and an overall "victory" condition - Mostly to wipe out minor factions which spawn massive non-kingdom armies.
I particularly like how there are a number of unique units. Certain lords or fifes spawn special units so I'm still encountering new ones.

I'd agree with everything Hyperion said on it too. Haven't encountered any bugs which is pretty sweet.

The other one I've played is Gekokujo. That one has a lot of factions, though most are pretty similar - the main difference is that different factions can upgrade different troops to the top tier. Besides that, the majority of units are the same.
The map is larger - Around 24 cities and 2-3 castles around each, IIRC.
Only issue I ever encountered is on one specific battle map where I ran into an invisible tree (or something) a few times.

It was fun, though the endgame did get a little boring since I had to hunt down and finish off so many lords, far away from my own lands.

All this talk about PoP is making me open it back up and try again, but good lord the music is awful.. never noticed how much I liked the music in Nova Aetas until I played Prophesy of Pendor #1 thing I would change.
