Warband: Tips on getting a wife.
I see lots of folk wanting to get a wife, and failing. What I do:

1. Work for a faction. Over time you build positive relations with senior lords, some of whom have a daughter.
2. Win tournements, and release prisoners. You gain honour and renown. It can also boost relations with other lords.
3. When winning tournements, dedicate the win to unmarried ladies in the castle you won at. This improves relations quickly o start with, and costs nothing.
4. Once you have good standing with a single woman (approx 10/15) tell her you are an admirer. If you have a good relationship with her and family she should respond positively.
5. Make sure as you travel you have spoken to bards and learned lots of peoms. You need these when courting your lady, for more relation value. Impact of the poem depends on the lady in question.
6. Once ready, approach the father for permission to marry. if granted this starts a quest to complete. You will need lots of cash for a dowry, so be ready with 20k+.
Once a feast occurs that your wife to be and her father attend, you must speak to him and complete the ceremony. Beware, a kingdom at war will make this very hard to achieve.
7. I find waiting until I have my own kingdom easier. I prepare everything and then make the father of the bride marshal. He normally rallies the army for a while, but once that is over the invite comes through shortly after and you seal the wedding. Remember, be at peace!
If you can, have lots of food/drink and spice stored in your capital. Then you can get staight into holding feasts and boosting relations with your own lords.

I think that about covers the quick and dirty version. Have fun.

Before you flirt with a lady asked permission from her father or brother.

Try the steps above, it probably won't work but if it does you'll be married into royalty, so what's to lose?

Thank you man, I will search Europe for tournaments, and after i get to talk to a lord and her daughter after joining his faction I will let you know how it goes.

Let me know as well. I might trade my current one in for a younger, wealthier one.

Here's a semi-related question: I joined a kingdom as a vassal because the father of the lady I wanted to marry needed me to, in order to have his permission to marry her. But the thing is, I just want to get married so I can make her the minister for my own kingdom, so I was planning to get married then leave the kingdom to go and create my own.

Would I lose the lady when I leave the kingdom? Even if I don't, where does the lady stay when I leave the kingdom?

You won't lose the lady once you're married. She will reside in the first town/castle you capture.. Until then I think she will stay at her father/guardians home, not sure about that.

If you're married to her she just stays with you since she is your wife, when you leave the kingdom she'll end up on one of your fiefs (town/castle) that you had her in before you left, if you ended up taking your fiefs with you. If you don't get any fiefs when you leave I'm not certain where she would stay but I believe a relative's town/castle is most logical as they usually stay there when you don't have a fief during marriage. So once you do get your first town/castle to start your own kingdom she'll end up there.

Damn, I should've just trusted the community of this game and asked the questions I had here instead of searching the net for ages. I was about to seriously quit the game because I've had so many questions and I couldn't find answers on forums. Now all my questions are getting answered by people. Wish every game had a community hub like this one's.

Thanks fellas, really appreciated.

I've played Warband for about an hour at most. But from the stuff I've read on the forums, Viking Conquest just puts a skin on the game to change some visuals and adds extra features rather than changing existing features. Matter of fact, there are more info about Warband on the internet compared to VC so when I get confused about a feature that existed in Warband, I just look for threads about the core game since that info will probably help me with my VC character as well.
